Every school is different. It depends on the school. There are some general principles.
A grade of D does not usually transfer. If you have a D at school A and transfer to school B, then school B is unlikely to give you credit for the course. If school B grants credit for CLEP, it is possible that maybe they'll award credit for passing the CLEP. Don't count on it because you did get a passing grade in the course.
