Aaah! Kinesthetic exercises... I looked it up, and the docs used those (or from what I read, something like it) to test him and right now at least, it's a challenge...but that's the vertigo at work, which will hopefully correct once they get him on the right medications. He's looking into something that might be adaptable, or perhaps if they'll recommend PT where something like this will be taught for home practice.
Thanks, Cook. Months ago, we'd consider it tough news to hear. At this point, though, given the other possibilities that were thrown at us the past few months, this is actually good news. M.S. can be treated and managed; individuals who start treatment early and get on top of it can and often do have a reasonably normal standard of living and life expectancy. The alternatives that it could have been were terrifying. It's been an odd sigh of relief at the last few appointments. (Never would have thought we'd say, "Whew! It's just M.S.!") Definitely looking into martial arts - that was a great suggestion. He's got to wait until vertigo is at least controllable and the docs give him the thumbs-up to proceed, but he loved the idea.
Wishing you guys the best!!! And I totally agree with the relief you're feeling about getting a diagnosis. Having a name at least tells you what you're up against (and that you're not crazy lol!)
