TESC has PLA listed also as part of the general educations courses. I sent TESC an email asking for about the PLA
MY QUESTION:
Kaplan has a portfolio class that is ACE approved: Documenting Your Experiences for College Credit: Learning Recognition Course (LRC 100). My question is does this class fall under TESC general education course Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or can it be substitute for either Introduction to Prior Learning Assessment (PLA-100) or Introduction to Portfolio Development (PLA-200)?
TESC RESPONSE:
Thank you for your question. A number of other institutions offer a course that is comparable to our PLA-100 and PLA-200 courses, and would be accepted as transfer credit equivalent to our PLA-100 or 200. However, each school's approach and methodology for portfolio development is different so rather than take the course elsewhere, it makes more sense to take it with TESC to learn more about what we specifically require in a portfolio.
If you have questions, please feel free to reach me directly. I will gladly assist you.

I plan on taking this course and see if TESC will apply to my GE. I am planning on changing my degree around due to my finance. I will let you know, if it does apply as a GE also instead of Free Electives.
