As most of you know, I rant when confronted by courses and policies that I disagree with. It is time I said something good about KCTCS. I just finished ENG-102 with an A. This course took less than a month and the grading was very fair. It follows the typical KCTCS pattern of Pre-test - lessons - Post-test. If you score 90% on the pre-test you skip to writing an essay and reflective essay for each of three modules. There are short timed essays for each pre-test, but the professor was very liberal in scoring them allowing me to get 90% on each pre-test. The key to getting 90% is passing the multiple choice questions for the given topic. The first course I took at BYU more than prepared me for this writing course.
