Straighlerline US History 1 HELP!!!
#3
patsfand Wrote:I am close to the end for my TESC BALS. Am I just burned out? Straighterline US History 1 is kicking my butt. Does anyone have any type help or advice they could offer me? I have done Straigterline, Aleks and PF courses. I have taken 6 Clep/DSST cold and passed every one. For some reason US History 1 is killing me. I tried it before and took the first couple of exams and bombed. I didn't go any further, so I could try it again. Now I have take the first two exams and got a 50 and a 60??? The info is sinking in, but the way the darn questions are worded. I know I know the question come right form the book. Yeah, but I cant find the answers that fast and none of them are a give me like year did .... take place.

Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. Should I just pull out of the course and try something else. I need to take 8 courses before starting my capstone in March. I thought Straightlerline would be the quickest route. I need General Education Electives, Social Sciences and 1 UL that will probably be World Religion. What do you think the easiest classes and esiest route to knock this out by March?

Thanks in advance. Everyone is always so helpful in this forum.

Get the textbook. If you do Straighterline, you should use a textbook, and since the tests are open book, you can have it with you when you take them. You still have to deduce what the questions are asking, and eliminate all but the answer that makes the most sense. Trust me when I tell you: unless you are a savant the text is a lifesaver! American history had always been my strong suit in school, so I naturally thought it would be as well when I took U.S. History I. It was strangely more difficult than I expected, largely because of the way the questions are worded. But I still ended up with only one question wrong in the entire course. :-) I couldn't have gotten such a high score without the textbook, so I will continue to say it like a mantra - use the TEXTBOOK!

Good luck on that.
