Cindy, to alleviate your fears...the Peterson's practice tests are usually a good deal more difficult than the actual exams. It's by design...to make sure you understand the material covered...not simply memorizing the correct answer for the IC questions. The best part of IC is not necessarily memorizing the right answer, it's in reading the explanations as to why your answer is correct or incorrect.
If you're able to do well on the Peterson's practice exams, then the actual CLEP usually will not be as difficult. For some exams, IC is more than enough to pass....for others, you need other resources such as Wikipedia, Sparknotes, etc. Feel free to ask questions.
