Thanks for the tip on Coastline. Of all the CA CCs I've investigated so far Coastline makes the various Gen-Ed options the easiest to understand, and their CBE TE table crossing is a great find. The only downside I see is that they don't have a lot of short semester course options. Otherwise, thier only 12hr residency requirement makes them the superior choice so far.
