Who is requiring this? Quite odd that an employer would be concerned about 6 college credits...and doubly odd that they wouldn't care what they are in. Can you explain this a little more?

FEMA qualify as College credits...you could finish 6 this afternoon. Even if you had to transcript them through FCC it would be easy to do and cheap enough for just 6 credits (around $500...if they required it on an actual college transcript).
