the only one of those I took was modern middle east
I scored an A and wasn't as prepared as I thought I was
I read the dummies guide to the middle east and the idiot's guide to the middle east and thought I was prepared, but the test covered much more of the ottoman empire and WW1 - WW2 than I expected
all that info was in the books, I just skipped it, because I thought, "hey, modern middle east, that must be post 1948, right ?"
HA !
not quite
although there were many questions on Israel, the PLO, the 6 day war and so on, there were also many questions on pre 1948
apparently I'm a good guesser
I don't think anyone would have a problem with the exam just from reading those 2 books
