The California State University (CSU) system allows you to use CLEPs and DSSTs for the general eds.
The University of California (UC) system by contrast doesn't allow any CLEPs or DSSTs.

Sometimes there are ways around it, for instance some schools will accept (not re-evaluate) transfer from in-state associate degrees. It would be worth looking at if this is the case. I only looked for a few minutes and couldn't find anything, but that's typically something that requires deeper digging!

In any event, they happily accept all AP credit with scores over 3, so that's a good way to bring in test credit. University of California - AP credits
