Well, generally, US 1 is just history, plain and simple, but US 2 has a lot of stuff on the issues of race, the rise of the woman workforce, and those more complicated topics. I also liked US 1 better, because the REA Clep book I used wasn't as bias (just mostly stated the facts, rather than show forth an opinion - who needs that in a test book - on an issue) as the one for US 2.
