Well, I took advantage of ALEKS and scored 53% during the trial of Trigonometry. Boy am I rusty after being out of high school for 22 years So I watched all of the Khan Academy videos while taking notes and signed up with ALEKS on Friday using the discount code that was floating around here and scored 70 % on my initial assessment and had it added to my ACE transcript. I chose Trigonometry as that will also fulfill my precalculus math requirement should I decide to go for a BSBA next - keeping my options open.
I do have one question. Can I take any more ALEKS classes or am I maxed out in what I can use towards this degree? So far I have MAT199 for 4 credits and STA201 for 5 and it looks like the ALEKS Trigonometry will come in as MAT129. Does STA201 count towards the lower level math cap below calculus of 9 credits or is that just 100 level classes? If not I am thinking I can take another 100 level class.
I think I can take ALEKS Business Statistics towards the BSBA, but I want to leave enough credits needing earned after my first one - I think you have to complete a minimum of 24 credits for your second bachelors with them. I do have an initial meeting with an advisor on Wednesday, but I am trying to get the ball rolling on as much as possible - I have even started reading Frankenstein for Straighterline English Composition II. Thanks for any input!
