Well, I took advantage of ALEKS and scored 53% during the trial of Trigonometry. Boy am I rusty after being out of high school for 22 years So I watched all of the Khan Academy videos while taking notes and signed up with ALEKS on Friday using the discount code that was floating around here and scored 70 % on my initial assessment and had it added to my ACE transcript. I chose Trigonometry as that will also fulfill my precalculus math requirement should I decide to go for a BSBA next - keeping my options open.
I do have one question. Can I take any more ALEKS classes or am I maxed out in what I can use towards this degree? So far I have MAT199 for 4 credits and STA201 for 5 and it looks like the ALEKS Trigonometry will come in as MAT129. Does STA201 count towards the lower level math cap below calculus of 9 credits or is that just 100 level classes? If not I am thinking I can take another 100 level class.
I think I can take ALEKS Business Statistics towards the BSBA, but I want to leave enough credits needing earned after my first one - I think you have to complete a minimum of 24 credits for your second bachelors with them. I do have an initial meeting with an advisor on Wednesday, but I am trying to get the ball rolling on as much as possible - I have even started reading Frankenstein for Straighterline English Composition II. Thanks for any input!

Hello,
You can grab more math credit: Intermediate Algebra will transfer as MAT115 and I would suggest College Algebra with trigonometry which transfers as MAT121 (while trig is fresh in your mind). Next you might also consider taking the college mathematics CLEP MAT101/102 for six addtional general educaton credits. The test should be very easy for you after completing so many math courses.
Another student shared TESC no longer gives credit for multiple statistics courses. BTW, there is a tesc equivalency document available on the forums, http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...post117772.
For the BSBA, the 24 NEW credits need to be from the area of study (18cr) + two core courses (6cr). For example the two core courses I chose to complete last were the capstone (strategic mgmt) and business ethics.
Good luck!

I have now completed ALEKS College Algebra and Straighterline Business Communication. If anyone would like the 11th edition of the Business Communication book just send me a PM. I bought the book new and only used it for this class.

About a third of those with associates degrees are earning more than all of those with bachelor's degrees. They are basically comparing those with technical, terminal associates with everyone with a bachelor's including those with humanities and social science degrees that don't pay much. So, yes, someone with an associates in networking or sonography is going to make more than someone with a degree in English who decided not to go into teaching. Overtime, however, those with bachelor's degrees will make more because they will see more raises and promotions than those with associates degrees. Most in the allied health fields will hit a ceiling in their earning potential and career advancement.
