This is a WAG (wild-a$$ guess, as opposed to a SWAG, scientifig WAG), but I suspect it is a degree that is pursued by people who are already in the field, but who need a degree to advance. In other words, a police officer, or fire fighter wants to advance, needs a degree, and gets this one. That said, it's only a guess, and I do not think any education is ever wasted. What do you folks think?
