Reif is right, you need to memorize many of the formulas because there are many exam problems that require knowing, which formula to use for that specific problem. If you use the Idiots Guide to Statistics, the book will provide an overview of all the necessary formulas including: mean, variance, standard deviation, Z-score, t-scores, standard error of the mean, proportions, one-sample hypothesis test, two-sample hypothesis, and sample size for confidence intervals.
