Penn Foster Offering single course sign-up option on website now???
#1
I am completely in shock. Link here: Individual College Courses - Penn Foster College

Penn foster is offering a few single courses that are approved for ace credit on their website. This is so much cooler than having to call a 1800 number to sign up for them. Although there is only two courses which I need I am still happy about this.
me:
ASBA-TESC-9/2011
BSBA-TESC-6/2012
Awards: Arnold Fletcher Award
MBA-CSU- 5/2014
DBA- undecided

hubby:
A.A.S-TESC-6/2012
BS in Interdisciplinary Studies-Starting Soon

Progress! I'm sure it also makes life easier for their customer service reps.

I think I see where they are going with this if I'm not mistaken, as I have already taken several of those courses. (I am in a degree program there.) None of the offerings (I think) require proctored exams. After I get caught up and finish my current semester I'm going to add in the C# and Java courses since they made it so convenient (and I'm leaning towards something like MIS for my bach.)

Oh, and I see they put Information Literacy in the wrong category, it's a short list, but if you miss it, it's in the "business classes" list instead of General.

Are there any other costs involved there? $285 is cheaper than the CC here, so I'd definitely be interested in the programming classes.

There would be a proctoring fee, but again I don't think any of those classes have proctors, just projects or written assignments.

Mian remember that they have to be ACE approved to get credit at the Big 3. Java IS NOT ACE approved. VB and VB C# ARE ACE approved ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training

At Penn Foster a proctor can be anyone you know with at min an Associates and a different last name and mailing address which does not make it any more difficult than having a take home test. Projects are usually 1-1.5pgs. It's open book, think SL with less work. BTW intermediate accounting does not require a proctored exam. Yes, its more expensive than SL but its also much faster. That is if you do not have to wait for a final exam to be mailed to the proctors home or office and returned before the 3 week deadline for grading.Smile
