Hello! I am taking the biology clep test this friday. i am VERY VERY nervous. I need to pass this to be able to apply to my nursing school. I've read on here that its REALLY tough, and i find that a little discouraging Does anyone know how the scoring goes? I need to get a 50 to get credit, does that mean i need to get half of them correct out of the 115? Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You will be fine. It can seem like a scary exam and there is a lot of information to remember but you can do it! :hurray: I would go here and take a practice test before Friday if you haven't already. About the scoring there are many, many threads about that already. Try using the search bar! It is your best friend here! hilarious

thanks so much for the reply! would you say if you study the test is pretty straight forward, or not really? I ask this because I've already taken many biology classes and STILL seem to not do as well as i thought i would on some of these questions.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by straight forward. If you mean that the questions can be easily solved as long as you have studied the material then that is hard to say because every test is different. There were some graphs on my test that I had to deduce information from. So those weren't really straight forward.
The Petersons are nice for practicing but I found the REA test results closer to how I actually scored. I only scored a 50 on the 3rd Peterson :ack: so don't let it scare you! If you are a paying member definitely check out the Specific Exam Feedback. You have a lot of great resources. You can do it!
HTH!

I try not to be intimidated when I hear that a test is difficult and also try not to take it for granted when I hear a test is easy. It really varies for each person and your interest level and study time is everything.
For example - Bus Law II is supposed to be one of the toughest tests out there. I studied hard and it wasn't all that bad. Macroeconomics is supposed to be easy. I didn't study enough and was overconfident because everyone in the thread said it was easy. I failed and scored 48 when 50 was needed for passing.
So... study as much as you can. Use IC and all other sources recommended in the specific feedback thread and you can't go wrong. Just don't be nervous. You can do it!!

Take one of the practice exams and see how you do.
18 - BIOLOGY 977 33%
According to that only 1/3rd of military test takers that took it passed, which may make it sound hard, but the advantage is that this throws the curve off a bit in your favor, meaning you can probably get a few extra wrong and still pass.

Which one was it? Was it the 3rd one? When I took the 3rd one I only scored a 50%. I would go over all the questions and answers that you got right and wrong for review! Keep studying!
