I began in November 09 and finished in Februrary 10. So, 3-4 months. I started with about 50 usable credits, and earned 70 in that time though DSST, CLEP, ECE, Penn Foster, and Straighterline. I was not working at the time, so it was easier for me.
If you want to know how fast you can complete it, that answer is really up to you. There really is not minimum amount of time, in my opinion. For many people, such as myself, the goal is to also get the best grades possible, and many times even score far above the mark needed for an "A." If I was just trying to finish as fast as possible, with a C-minimum grade on the exams and courses, I estimate I could have done 70 credits in 6 weeks. I'm definitely not the smartest person on this board, and not even close. Others have achieved their success at a faster pace than I did.
If I were you, I would decide first your goal. Are you looking to get the best GPA possible, or are you just trying to finish regardless of grades? After you figure that out, just take it one step at a time. Are you someone who can study for multiple subjects at once? A lot of this is figuring out yourself and what is the fastest process that works with your mental and emotional makeup.
