This is a tough one. Most of the electronics stuff won't apply to a CIS or CS degree. The closest thing I can find is the BSAST Degree in Electronics Systems Engineering Technology, however, it has a lot of specific requirements, and it's hard to know exactly how your transfer credits would be applied. You would have to wait to have your transcript evaluated to know. Also, pursuing it requires meeting with an adviser multiple times. On the plus side, it is ABET accredited.

You should look at all of the BSAST degrees at TESU.

One thing you can do after your eval comes through is log on and try out different degrees. It's quick and easy, and you can see if any of your courses are a better fit than for whatever you applied for.

I agree, one of the BSAST degrees will probably work. The "Technical Studies" one is kind of a catch-all concentration. However, you have no upper level classes, so if speed and cost are your main concern, you'll need to do a lot of research on what upper level credits are available for each of them.

UG - AP Tests: 20 credits | APICS: 12 Credits | CLEP: 6 credits | Saylor Academy: 6 credits | Sophia.org: 27 credits | Study.com: 12 credits | Davar Academy: 3 credits | TESU: 15 credits | Other College: 99.5 credits

I know the electronics stuff won't apply and that's sucks but I understand that. I am looking into BSAST degree in Information Technology and BA degree in Computer Science, since I do have some CS course.

I'm going to have to wait for the eval, but I am looking into BSAST degree in Information Technology and BA degree in Computer Science.

I've also search around the forum and see guys/gals getting college credit for study.com, saylor and other sources. Can you give me a bit more info on these? I do plan on taking as many CLEP/DSST as possible, but if study.com, saylor and others are straight forward I'll be interested in taking those.

If you end up doing the BSAST Tech Studies program, I would suggest making sure you have all of the requirements for the Gen Ed and specifics - Chem I & II (Science area), College Algebra (Quant Lit area), Stats, Tech Writing (Info Lit Req), Computers, Precalc, & Project Management.

Then take the MIS & Cybersecurity DSST exams, and the Info Systems Analysis & Design CSU-Global exam (all 3 are UL). I'm not sure if the Cloud Computing course will count towards a BSAST so double-check that one.

At that point, you can see what the BSAST TS looks like as compared to the BSBA CIS degree. You may find that with the BSBA, you need more courses but they will be cheaper so it might be worth it at that point to get it. Or you may be pretty close to the BSAST and want to pursue that.

I just find that with all of your requirements and Gen Eds done, it's nice to take a second look and see what your other options might be. It will usually solidify your choice at that point.

Another option I would look at is WGU's IT degree. I think you got enough networking and computer courses to make it work. You'll get some IT certificates for "free" as part of the tuition. You would need to complete as many GE as possible prior to enrollment to minimize the time and money spent at WGU. You can transfer as many as 91 credits to WGU. You'll probably need to apply to see how many of your credits are usable.

For CS, you're missing 2 upper level courses, 3 math courses, 1 capstone, 3 UL exams (mentioned by dfecore earlier). On top of that, your networking and computer application courses will not count in the CS area of study. You're missing the data structures course. I don't see a programming course. You're going to be starting nearly from scratch.

Thanks guys, I'll sit tight and wait until my transcript is evaluated and take it from there. I'll keep you guys posted. I just signed up for IC and going to try and take Intro of Sociology to get the ball rolling.

Any progress yet bud?
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.

Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.
