Holy bumping old thread Batman!
I disagree with people that say to not study for A&I. I'm not a big fiction reader so I was worried about it. Sure, there were a few literary term questions on the test so understanding metaphor and simile are important, but I found increasing my comprehension was important. Understanding tone, the deeper metaphors, and literary devices really helped me out. I got How to Read Literature Like a Professor from the library and I feel it helped me: Amazon.com: How to Read Literature Like a Professor: A Lively and Entertaining Guide to Reading Between the Lines (9780060009427): Thomas C. Foster: Books Even without being an avid fiction or poetry reader I managed a respectable 64.

A&I and Social Sciences and History were my first two CLEPs
I took both of them with no study whatsover (before I discovered IC). I got a 65 on A&I and a 61 on Social Sciences and History.
