Hi!

Congratulations on passing this exam! I was wondering - which school counts this as natural science? Thanks for the info.

I teach a health course and I still took this seriously. Take the time to go through the IC cards at least once. You may learn something new and get a higher score to boot.

Hello,

Ditto! I was told by TESC Advising that it was a free elective. I am studying now for substance abuse in January. If I could get away with HTYH, I would be thrilled if I was given incorrect information. The sub abuse exam seems to be a doosy and I work in pharma (specifically with opioids for 3 yrs). Just from the petersons tests and flashcards it seems to be a catch all for any and all types of drug, alcohol and social misfunction. IMHO whoever wrote the test(course) was self medicating...but then what do i know<;-)

I am taking Here's to Your Health and Substance Abuse on Wednesday too! They will be my first DSST exams, but I recently took two Excelsior exams and passed.
Good luck!

Thank you, chaoticdream. Good Luck to you also! This DSST Health exam will be my very first credit by exam. My testing center offers the test on Wednesday and Friday; I think I might take it on Friday.

I just took the Here's to your health exam today and just wanted to share some things I learned. This was my first exam through Dantes/Clep so I was nervous and probably not as prepared. Thankfully, I got 423!

I am attaching a document that was posted prior by a student in October (Please look at next post below). It was super helpful! After I reviewed the document, I did the IC flashcards. It was definately worth the $20. I listened to the MP3 of the flashcards and later tested myself with the original flashcards. This way, I was able to listen to the information and visually see it.

I also paid the $5 to DSST - GetCollegeCredit.com to take the practice exam. They let you take the same test twice, so that way you can learn from what you missed.

I was nervous from reading the negative reviews for Instantcert, but from my experience...it was a great refresher for information that I've learned in the past. There were things that I did not know and had to do some google searches to learn more. I found that my previous courses in Physiology, Virology, Microbiology really helped my understanding of the material. However, if you don't have previous biology knowlege, I would suggest doing the IC flashcards slowly, try to understand the information and google search topics you don't understand. I would do the flashcards early on and take your time!

Best wishes on your studying!

Hello, I'm new here...
I'm going to take the HTYH exam in a couple of days... I think I saw a posting talking about audio something.. what is that and how can I download that?
About the Paterson exams... is in that just for CLEP exams? sorry.. I'm found this website.. so, I may be asking some silly questions.
Thanks in advance!

Yay! I passed with a 468. I don't know if that is a good score or not but I passed so that is all that really matters.
I also took the Substance Abuse and got a 470.
HTYH took me about 25-30 min to complete and SA took 40-45 min.

If you have any healthcare/medical background the HTYH will be super easy. Likewise for the SA I guess too. I really wish I had done all of my gen ed with these exams but I just didn't know about them until now! (These were my last 6 credits to finish my degree)
