I have read through as many Human Growth & Development posts as I can find to prepare for my exam but the posts are so old that I am not sure if the information is reliable. Can someone tell me how often the CLEP exams are revised? Does anyone have any updated information about the HG&D CLEP exam?
I MUST pass my CLEP exam as there was miscommunication from my academic advisor and I must complete my degree program by July 2009 or risk having to re-enroll and take more classes because the degree program has been changed since I completed it! Grrrrr....there is NO room for retaking in 6 mos.
The university won't even grant me an extension citing "Policy" even though I have just gone through 3 hospitalizations and 2 major surgeries since February of this year!!!!
Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am a new member here and am just now reviewing the IC flash cards and have reviewed the REA HG&D book and 3 exams.

They are "revised" on a regular basis but do not deviate from the standard material used and needed to pass.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
I took the HG&D CLEP back in January. It is definitely a very doable clep. I used IC and REA together, and found it was very good preperation for the actual exam. The REA practice tests were good for guaging which areas I needed to brush up on. Also, the specific exam section was VERY VERY VERY instrumental in my pass. Seriously, A LOT of the stuff that is mentioned there was on the actual test and I wouldn't have known to study it if not for that.
I wish you all the luck in the world! Let us know how it goes!

I am happy to report that I passed my Human Growth & Development exam today (69)!!
I am not happy to report that I found the test to be harder than I expected. After taking my final Peterson Practice Test last evening and scoring a whopping 78 I thought I was going to scream through this test; however, it was filled with questions that I felt ill-prepared for.
Thankfully, the bottom line is all that mattered...and when it was all said and done I walked outta there on cloud 10!! (I know it is supposed to be cloud 9 but I floated a little higher!!)

Second of all, just wanted to say that for some reason that is beyond my comprehension, I always feel like I am completely failing a CLEP as I take it. No idea why, cuz I haven't scored under a 63. And lots of other people feel the same way, too. Weird.
Whatever the case is, though, I guess we should all just tell ourselves that no matter how it feels, theres no need to panic till you click to see your scores!!!
