Rainydays12 Wrote:I just reread the requirements for a Psych major at Excelsior. It says you need an "intermediate or upper level course" that corresponds to Educational Psych. I was planning to fulfill it with the CLEP Intro Educ Psych (like I've read others are doing) but it has now occurred to me that it isn't int. or upper level. Has anyone fulfilled this req. with the CLEP?
Also, not the same topic, but I'm sure someone can help. If I major in Psych can my second depth be in Sociology? Or does it have to be somewhere outside the Social Sciences realm?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Rainydays,
Excelsior has in the past, and still does, take CLEP Ed Psych in fulfillment of the educational psychology requirement.
Also, there is no reason why your second depth couldn't be in Sociology or another social science area. In fact, if you go for a BA in Psych rather than a BS in Psych, your second depth MUST be in a social science area. However, with the much more flexible BS degree, it is merely an option for you to choose if you so desire.
As always, the final say comes from Excelsior, and what they say supercedes anything said on this forum. If you are ever in doubt as to official Excelsior policy, you should obtain confirmation from them directly, and get it in writing.
