I just got an email today that after we pay $100 per class to have them graded, we have to pay an additional $500 per class to have it transcribed.
"Hi Michael,
Of course, we ran into a snag. I don’t believe the transfer credit fee portal has been opened. Each course will cost $500, so a total of $2500. I sincerely hope I am not the first person to tell you about the fee. Have you already paid this?"
Has anyone else made it this far, and got this type of response?
Also has anyone ever gotten a response from
100millionlearners@thunderbird.asu.edu
100MillionLearnersSupport@exchange.asu.edu
100mlsupport@thunderbird.asu.edu
I, for one, have never gotten a response from any of those emails.
An associate director reached out to me if I would be interested in the MLM after 100mil and has been the only person to give me any info what so ever.
How is everyone else doing towards transcription?

Im sorry what? That’s $3K for the whole transcribed certificate. Nowhere was this fee listed or explained. What a load of crap.
Edit: Mods, why does this app convert my numbers into emojis and how do I make it stop?

It is false advertising by ASU. They claimed it would be a “menial fee” to get credit for the classes.
I understand paying for grading (thought I know those grad students are getting pennies on the dollars to do it), but I cant get my head around paying $2.5k just to get it transcribed.
You can get a whole ass masters degree for less than it cost for this certificate. Heck, you can get graduate credit from ENEB for a fraction of this cost.

Hmm, I think it'll be worth it if the fee was just the $100/class, but at $500 each, without knowing if it is fully transferable to another program, doing the UMPI MAOL or HAU MBA would have more ROI/Value. Doing the freebie for the knowledge and filling in those learning gaps isn't a bad idea though, but getting the credit, unless you really want to transfer to a specific program that will take these, you can decide then...

Has anyone actually got them transcribed? If so is the total cost 500 or closer to 3,000?

I sent all my receipts to the Associate Director (I don't want to put her on blast here), but I have yet to hear back. She's been tremendous at checking with whoever is concerned about this and does get back to me.
As far as my receipts go, this $500/class has not been mentioned until now, and I am hoping that she was misinformed.
With a $ 25 million donation to recycle a prebuilt MOOC curriculum and us paying $100/class to have graded, it covers any overhead and remains profitable for ASU/Thunderbird. If we spend $2500-3000, I agree with @bjcheung77 that the ROI isn't worth it unless one has a specific plan in mind.

If the info we currently have is accurate, $3000 for a 15-credit graduate certificate from the leading school in a particular industry is a really great deal. It's just not the deal that they made it sound like it was. We went from being told that it was going to be free, to a nominal fee, to a few thousand dollars.

"Dear xxxxxx,
Congratulations on your completion of an advanced course as part of the Najafi 100 Million Learners program! We noticed that you submitted at least one final assignment and would like to support you with the next phase in your educational journey.
We are pleased to inform you that the payment portal is now open for those who wish to request evaluation of their final assessments for their completed course(s) in the advanced program. Evaluation of final assessments is the first step required to obtain academic credit for courses completed through the Najafi 100 Million Learner Global Initiative.
How to request evaluation of your final written assignments:
Access the payment portal: Visit the instructions page at the end of each advanced course to find the link to the payment portal and detailed steps for requesting evaluation.
Submit evaluation request: Follow the provided steps to submit your evaluation request. Each course evaluation requires a $100 fee to support faculty review and grading.
Review your score and feedback: Once evaluated in Canvas, feedback will be available for your review. You must earn a score of 80% or higher on the submission to pass.
Receive a letter grade: Your final evaluation score, combined with scores from other activities, will be used to determine the final letter grade for the course. To be eligible for academic credit in a course, you will need to earn a B or better.
Next steps in academic credit attainment:
Apply and earn admittance to ASU: Once letter grades of B or better have been earned for all five courses, you will need to apply and earn admittance to Arizona State University under one of the following Thunderbird graduate programs: the Master of Leadership and Management degree program or the Graduate Certificate in Global Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Obtain academic credit: Pending admittance to ASU, you will be able to request academic credit for the courses that may be used toward the Thunderbird program or transferred from ASU to an accepting accredited institution of your choice.
To learn more about Thunderbird’s qualifying online graduate degree programs, their costs, scholarship opportunities for 100ML participants, and how 100ML course credits (once obtained) can be applied to our programs, connect with us here. "

There's no former mention of another fee.
