Bachelor's degree Help
#41
For TAMUC /ETAMU it looks like you need:

6 credits in science
I used Sophia Human Biology and Environmental Science

3 credits in Language,Philosophy and Culture
I took MMJ 1307 at TAMUC, but others took Sophia Visual Communications (I would take Visual Comm at Sophia and try to transfer it to TAMUC)

8 credits needed for electives, you should be able to transfer courses from Sophia to satisfy this
They should apply any 8 credits from Sophia (pick some courses without Touchstones)
Use this link to see what courses do not have touchstones https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List

You will also need 6 credits in upper level electives from TAMUC, I took the 2 courses below at TAMUC
CID 338 Talent Leadership in Human Resources
CID 342 Leading Innovation

Then you need the 30 hours for the BAAS ORG Leadership Major

ORGL 3311 Foundations of Organizational Leadership
ORGL 3321 Organizational Communication
ORGL 3322 Organizational Ethics
ORGL 3331 Data Driven Decision Making
ORGL 3332 Organizational Behavior
ORGL 4341 Leadership Theory
ORGL 4342 Leading Diverse and Inclusive Teams
ORGL 4343 Leading Change
ORGL 4352 Capstone I
ORGL 4361 Capstone II

If you want to go this route, take care of your Sophia classes and then send in your transcript from Sophia for evaluation. The Sophia classes you should be able to knock out in an efficient manner. Sophia will let you work on 2 classes at the same time.

If you have any questions about TAMUC/ ETAMU feel free to ask, there were a few of us who just graduated from the program in May.

Completed:
TAMUC BAAS Org Leadership
SJC AAS Automotive Technology

@FabulousDramatics - since you're also considering UMPI, I would recommend the Human Biology the Lab (as you'll need that for UMPI), and as one of your electives take Spanish I or French I since you'd need one of those for UMPI as well. Might as well take the courses that can carry over to both schools if you're still in need of a few credits from Sophia anyway. There may be others that you'd need for the UMPI GEC that can used to fill the TAMUC/ETAMU electives - the wiki page has those items that UMPI requires that you may be missing.

Created a new TAB for UMPI, I didn't get an email from them but happened to check the portal for transfer credits so they may still be working on this? Not sure how to read this just yet to understand what exactly is accepted and how it would apply to a degree program. I would want to see if I could do the BAS-MIS degree.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...1445600899

EDIT: Actually looks like they did apply this over to the Liberal Studies degree. Obviously that would be the quickest way to 'check my degree box' and I assume BAS-MIS will add more classes which I don't know that I mind. Need to figure out how it would change things...

Liberal Studies Major        Bachelor of Liberal Studies.   2025 Spring

  • Units: 120.00 required, 88.00 taken, 32.00 needed

@bjcheung77 or anyone else that sees this... is there a process/trick to requesting the BAS-MIS at UMPI other than just emailing my assigned enrollment specialist and asking to see if it's possible and what those degree requirements would look like vs the liberal studies they have me setup for currently?

At this point its going to come down to TAMUC Org Leadership or a UMPI degree so I am trying to see which is going to be best for me.

I switched with my academic advisor after I enrolled. I would guess that you need to enroll in the BLS and change after the fact, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone here was able to apply to the BLS and enroll in the BAS?

Basically, you have an AAS (Applied Science in Electronics Technology), you're eligible for the BAS as long as you have enough credits related to technology (you need at least 40+ credits). If you have those, you can email your academic advisor or your success coach to move you over to the BAS from the BLS and get you an academic evaluation, they'll show in yellow highlights what is remaining for the degree...

I updated the google link UMPI spreadsheet tab above with the latest What-If scenario UMPI sent over. Looks like its still just 32 credits needed? I need to build out the spreadsheet to determine what I can still take from Sophia. (for example I would prefer to do Spanish and a few others) I guess I was thinking I would have more than 32 credits left switching to BAS-MIS but I guess I was wrong....

Are you saying out of the 8 credits needed for electives, 6 of those need to be the upper level electives from TAMUC? I am following everything else you said but this area has me a bit confused.

Do Not do Spanish or Bio w/lab at UMPI. There have been so many reported issues and delays with those two courses there, get any GECs you're missing with Sophia. If you're need a few extra courses outside MIS, you can always take one or more of those courses that apply to the MAOL(just in case you later opt for that) to get you to reach the 30 UMPI credits.

Looking at your spreadsheet again, It looks like you need 8 elective credits, 6 of those need to be upper level electives from TAMUC.

You should have:
42 hours core curriculum (missing 6 hours of science, and 3 hours in Language,Philosophy and Culture)
42 hours of general electives (missing 2 hours of general electives credit)
6 hours upper level electives @TAMUC
30 hours applied major classes @ TAMUC

120 hours total

You should be able to transfer in the 6 science, 3 Language, Phil, Cul and 2 Hr general elective from Sophia.
36 Hours is the minimum you have to complete at TAMUC/ETAMU

Completed:
TAMUC BAAS Org Leadership
SJC AAS Automotive Technology
