@acamp, here is a thread you may want to review, in there, I have 4 threads linked, there are plenty of info in these threads as well. There are plenty of info, but it all boils down to ACE/NCCRS and Dual Enrollment credit, the Dual Enrollment credits of 15 or so is required for TESU, you do the remaining 15 credits at TESU for residency and to complete the degree requirements. Here's the kicker, since you're in NJ, I suggest getting the Pierpont AA when you also graduate High School at the same time. Then transfer all the ACE & Dual Enrollment credits into TESU for their Associates/Bachelors double combo - that is another two Associates, AS and AAS, and a double Bachelors, BA & BSBA to complete the residency requirements. In the end, you get 3 Associates, 2 Bachelors for under $7K by getting 90+ credits from Sohpia.org/Study.com and Dual Enrollment credits for RA requirements.

I'll update you on what is required for Sohpia.org at Pierpont, essentially, I mentioned it already, it's all/anything that you can take from them that will go towards the general education and electives. So, anything and everything will work, but since you need to see it to believe it, I'll just copy/paste each and every class you take to get a general AA. You just take 15 credits randomly at Pierpont that is offered for Dual Enrollment, everything else is 'negotiable'.

Hi all,
Okay I must be getting old I guess lol because I am now venturing into the college planning stage for my oldest.  She is 15 and will be a sophomore in high school next year (she is homeschooled and is extremely diligent and organized with her work).

The goal (hopefully realistic) is to have her graduate her senior year of HS with both a high school and ASSOCIATES degree.  

We would need the associates degree to be:
1) credits from REGIONALLY-ACCREDITED schools

2) LOWEST PRICE possible.  I know money doesn’t matter for some but sadly it does for us haha.  We really need the associates to be as low-cost out of pocket as possible.

3) no CLEP or AP courses.  

Hope that makes sense.  If anyone can shed any light or guidance, I would really appreciate it.  Thanks all.

Dual enrollment at De Anza College (I don’t think state residency matters as long as your student is willing to take online classes) is free as long as the student maintains part-time status, which is 11 units or less per quarter. This allowed me to get almost 40 semester credits in 6 quarters/2 school years and then I used CLEP to round out my general education since I already knew what university I was going to attend by that point. Starting at 15, they’ll definitely be able to get farther with it.

West Virginia has a few colleges, the two I like most is Blue Ridge due to their different options at the Associates level.  Interesting ones to say the least, they have a few that are not the norm...  Pierpont due to the sheer number of people who used them...  For Blue Ridge Dual Enrollment, there's an area for Homeschool on the webpage, you may want to contact them to get the full scoop of things: https://www.blueridgectc.edu/audience/ne...l-student/

1) All WV colleges have a residency requirement, just like any other institution, it should be 25% of the classes required must be done
2) Dual enrollment should be used for classes not easily available using ACE or other alternative credit options, or not transferable
3) Depends on your degree and alternative credit providers they accept, your general education, electives should all be transferable

My partner's kids attend Blue Ridge and they really like it.

It's too bad that Blue Ridge changed their tuition for out of state dual enrolled high schoolers. It used to be $25 per credit no matter where you lived. Since July 2024, they charge the regular out of state rate for those high schoolers that don't live in WV, $1000 for a 3 credit course. Not a viable option for most of us here.

From Pierpont's website, high school dual enrollment was bumped but not to full out of state price.  It is $60 per credit for non resident dual enrollment instead of $25 per credit.
