Majoring in hospitality, tourism, or event management—any advice?

My 18-year-old son is looking for a bachelor’s program in hospitality, tourism, or event management, preferably with regional accreditation and under 10K. He has completed almost all Sophia Learning courses for UMPI's BABA in Management & Leadership program, but unfortunately, he is too young to enroll.

Any suggestions?

Hello:

Columbia Southern has a BBA with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism and they accept a lot of Sophia and other ACE credits:

UMPI doesn't offer any of these programs in YourPace. 

His best bet is going to be TESU since he's looking to use ACE credits. He'll still need RA credits at TESU.

UMPI doesn't offer any of these programs in YourPace. 

His best bet is going to be TESU since he's looking to use ACE credits. He'll still need RA credits at TESU.

UMPI's BABA in Management & Leadership was his initial choice. Since my son is too young to enroll, we are exploring other options. After doing some research, we are now leaning towards the Bachelor of Science in Management at the University of the Cumberlands. It seems to be a great alternative.

As for TESU, he doesn't have any RA credits yet, just some XAMK courses.

XAMK courses count as RA courses at TESU. My son had his evaluated via ACEI & most went into electives, while some went into his major & gen ed.

Cumberlands is a good choice too. The tuition includes all the books & they accept a good amount of ACE credits.

TESU appears to be a promising choice too, but we feel somewhat overwhelmed by the information available on DegreeForum. We're concerned about potentially overlooking important details that could lead to unnecessary costs. 

Could you share any insights on how to get started with the application process? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My recommendation is to put together a spreadsheet with a tab for each possible choice school and do the best that you can in mapping the possible credits that could be accepted:

-For TESU, use the degree maps available - the business degrees are very similar and the Sophia courses will go mostly into the general education, a little bit in the business core and into electives. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:TESU

Upon reviewing the Undergraduate Admissions requirements, I noticed that while it states, "Applicants must be at least 18 for admission to Thomas Edison State University. Applicants between 18 and 19 should review the steps listed on the Undergraduate Admissions page" - it appears that these specific steps are not clearly outlined or may be missing from the linked section.
