It's a new program, those details haven't been entered into their webpage. It's best for someone to inquire about the tuition and report back...

Tuition may not be figured out yet since this program is not launching for over a year.

The total cost for the program is $37,000, regardless of whether a student is residential or not, and the tuition fees are the same for international students. The program spans ten years, allowing students the flexibility to start and stop as needed. Given that they require comprehensive exams before advancing to candidacy, I anticipate a high dropout rate. This program is essentially a mini-PhD tailored for executives, but I don’t see why a top manager or board member would need a DBA, especially with the added hassle of comprehensive exams. It seems like they originally intended to launch a PhD program but opted for an online DBA due to limited resources. Admission to this program will be highly competitive, likely favoring those who can afford the tuition and a few dedicated students. As someone who considers themselves a dedicated student, I plan to apply for this program by taking out a loan for my education.

If the program cost were $37,000, the Texas State DBA would cost less than many of their MBA options, which I find highly improbably.
Now, it certainly could be $37,000 per year. That’s about right for this degree. Very close to Prairie View’s DBA and a tick under the UT-Dallas and University of Houston DBA’s, which makes sense given the respective institutions.
Master of Accountancy (taxation concentration), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
Master of Business Administration (financial planning specialization), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
BA, UMPI. Accounting major; Business Administration major/Management & Leadership concentration. Awarded Dec. 2021.
In-person/B&M: BA (history, archaeology)
In-person/B&M: MA (American history)
Sophia: 15 courses (42hrs)

This is my grand finale in this thread. The tuition fee clocks in at just over $12,000 per year, and this isn’t a guess—it’s a solid fact straight from McCoy's program coordinator as of August 29th. Farewell and good luck!

For some reason, Texas State University is claiming that they offer the only fully online DBA in Texas. This is not true. University of the Incarnate Word has been offering a DBA fully online. If Txst had said that they're the only AACSB-accredited business school in Texas to offer a fully online DBA, that would be true. Incarnate Word is ACBSP-accredited.

https://sps.uiw.edu/academics/doctoral/ This is a guess based on the wording of the TSU site, one of the editors must have changed the tag line from "only state institution" to "only institution in the state," rendering the statement inaccurate

This doesn't sound right. An AACSB DBA for $12,000 per year? That's cheaper than South College, which has neither AACSB nor ACSBP secondary accreditation AND cheaper than their own MBA. Sounds like someone is trying to drum up interest by underreporting the actual cost a bit. There's got to be a catch somewhere...
