Jonathan Whatley posted about William Woods University in another thread, but I thought their DBA deserved its own thread because it has three dissertation options: dissertation for professional practice, dissertation for publication, and traditional dissertation.

They're ACBSP-accredited, tuition is reasonable, up to 50% of the program can be transferred in, and the program can take as little as 12 months to complete.

Hmm, I wonder 'what classes' can transfer into the degree and drop it down to 50% to be completed, example/what if someone did the VUL DHA or the South College DBA (but not finished it yet and want to transfer)... Tuition shows as $21,060 one year and $39,780 up to two years, not bad if you can finish in the year!

I wanted to learn more about this degree, but found the lack of available information odd. I wonder if this is a new degree program. Specifically:
The DBA is not listed in their catalog. FWIW, their other doctoral programs are listed:
https://www.williamwoods.edu/catalog/doc...atalog.pdf
And,
The university has ACBSP accreditation for its business bachelors and masters programs but not for doctoral programs: https://www.acbspsearch.org/Home/Details...d=Inst2425
Perhaps they are seeking accreditation for the DBA.
Master of Accountancy (taxation concentration), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
Master of Business Administration (financial planning specialization), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, in progress.
BA, UMPI. Accounting major; Business Administration major/Management & Leadership concentration. Awarded Dec. 2021.
In-person/B&M: BA (history, archaeology)
In-person/B&M: MA (American history)
Sophia: 15 courses (42hrs)

Hey Y'all I had a couple emails and a call with admissions:
1.This is a brand new program - no graduates
2.This may be a better fit for MBAs. I have a master in legal studies and will complete a masters in hospitality management in August and have only been given initial transfer credit for four classes. (if I really pursued it I could perhaps get more).
TBH, if they would have approved me for max amount of transfer credits I'd sign up now. That being said from what I gather from admissions most DBA classes will be taught by one faculty memeber. So even with a high amount of transfer credit you may have to wait for classes you need to be taught. I'll still consider this program but, it may not be the right fit for my purposes. Also, they wouldnt commit to letting me ride a horse at graduation.

Having only 1 faculty member for all of the DBA classes just isn't realistic. I'm definitely interested in this program, but how can it be a 12 month program with 1 professor? That poor person will be burnt out in no time.

Since it's a new program, I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig. Maybe sit back a bit to see how this goes and decide later, or search or similar programs that are out there. I would wait to see if they're going for the ACSBP at the DBA level or not. TESU as an example, only have their BSBA and MBA, their ASBA nor DBA have ACBSP...

They're accepting masters-level transfer credits?

If Degree Forum floods them with students, they'll be forced to hire more instructors. LOL

TBH, at doctoral distance programs this small a good chunk of the classes could just be crosslisted master's classes or, like at troy's PHD sports management program, all your electives are straight master's classes.

How would the transfer work for this program? Would a completed MBA from WGU get 50% of coursework waived?
