And thank you for participating. I understand the passion that goes along with politics, don't worry. I really do appreciate your point of view, even though it doesn't happen to align with mine. Thank you for sharing!

I have not tried to attack anyone on here personally. I appreciate free speech and although I may disagree, resect everyone's right to free speech and to vote. I as a Marine Corps veteran wish that everyone could realize how many men and women have died so that they can have the right to vote tomorrow. I may have been sarcastic when I said " do I have to give half of my test scores and half of my money" but it was to make a point. Alissa said she is voting for Obama because his tax plan wil benefit her most. His plan, the way he protrays it, would benifit me more also. That doesn't make it right. I do not want other people's hard earned money given to me. I would just like to keep more of my own. When Obama promises tax cuts to the 40 pct of people who do not pay taxes, it is not a tax cut, it is welfare. He said his self he wants to redistribute the wealth and that is not goverments job and that is not what the founding fathers had in mind. Government is so far out of their role and responsibility already. The are there to protect us and provide infrastructure that will allow people to be safe and succed on their own merit. Rosevelt started "the Great Society' (after going on TV to reassure the people during the depression, SARCASIM INTENTED) and even then never imagined a Government as big as we have now. I do not know how anyone can think it is right to tke money from someone that has worked hard for it and give it to someone who has not. That is stealing!

For me personally the Constitution Party best represents me but a vote for them is one less for McCain and that is like one more for Obama. I wish a third party had a shot but currently they do not. The closest would have been Ross Perot had he not backed out and then re entered the race back in 92.

Like I said, I may be sarcastic sometimes but I never mean to attack anyone personally.

dc67--I have enjoyed the ongoing debate between you and martialartist, I think the two of you have done the best job stating your respective sides without too much rudeness. I also like it that you both agree with me basically, that a multi party system /third party candidate would better respect your views. Neither party seems to be very satisfying these days. at least not for me, or for you guys. We just have to work with what we've got, I suppose.

These guys never really tried their utmost best to reign in Fannie and Freddie, did you not see the report about how there were republicans actively lobbying against the bill because of the links that they had with thses two companies? If they wanted to push that bill through they could have, the same way they got the Bush tax cuts through.

So, don't believe for one second that they really have that in mind. Fannie and freddie based on reports lobbied a few key republicans to make sure it was not passed.

The democrats are fully aware that if they screw up that they will be voted out in 2 years, so expect some good bills and reform to take place especially in the first 4 years.

On the issue of judges, I must be honest, I don't want an idealist in the Supreme Court, I want a strict constructionist of the constitution. Someone in the middle of the road that looks at the big picture.

DC7, I am in the beginning stages of creating a political website and I will welcome your input once I get it up and running, I want to ensure that all views are represented.

By the way did you happen to catch Gov. Huckabee talking with Bill Maher, it was rather interesting listening to the Governer discuss his belief in a personal way. I liked it, makes me like him even more.

Hmm, I'll point out that anyone who's passed the Macroeconomics CLEP should know better than to think either one of the major candidates is going to affect the economy all that much, or that there's much difference between them on economic issues.

If we can believe the below, anybody who's trying complete a BS on the cheap will probably benefit under either one.

I did not see the Governor talking to Bill Maher, I wish I had. I did see him talking to the people from SNL last night on his show. I am never shy about my convictions so let me know when it is up and running. A local radio talk show host said Obama will kill him financialy but help his show because he figures there will be plenty to talk about. Of coarse that is if they don't pass the fairness doctorine. If that passes, there goes the right to free speech. I am sure I mentioned it earlier, I was a Huckabee guy but he just couldn't over come the odds.

Here it is the day before the election and I have to make a decision. I have been voting in every election since 1972 when I was first allowed. I remember being very involved in previous elections just through classroom votes. Many years I have been unhappy with the choices and had to vote for who I thought was the lesser of the two evils. I have even voted 3rd party once or twice when I felt it was a safe way to voice my discontent. This election has people who have never been the least bit interested in the past watching every debate. My friend who usually finds the evening news to depressing is glued to her set now. People who have told me "I'm not smart enough to decide" are paying attention so they can decide.
Personnally I am disappointed that enough americans who are so disgusted with the current choices couldn't come together and produce a viable 3rd party candidate.

I have heard lots of people tell me who they will vote for, but I can't remember one person telling me why they like their candidate, what they tell me is why you would have to be crazy to vote for the other candidate. The winner of this election will not be the person most people like he will be the person less people hated. I find that a sad commentary on our next president.

Here's the link to youtube where Huckabee discusses his faith with Maher:YouTube - Bill Maher & Mike Huckabee Discuss Faith

Was anyone else surprised that McCain didn't choose Huckabee for VP? I was, Huckabee is very likable. And they seemed very friendly to each other near the end of the primaries

Also, thank you Linda for your insight! Well said.
