Your Location: Hong Kong
Your Age: 25
What kind of degree do you want?: Any BLS degree from UMPI, prefer MIS/PM/ Management minor
Current Regional Accredited Credits:
Liverpool International College Foundation Certificate in Business, Law and Social Sciences, RQF Level 3, 80 UK credits in total (no idea of US equivalent )
Got one Certificate of Higher education from the University of Liverpool UK (CertHE), RQF Level 4, no idea what is the equivalent for US schools, quit in year one, majored in marketing, and 120 UK credits in total
On progress: ENEB Supply Chain Management+MBA (60 or 120 ECTS in total? Not sure for dual program)
XAMK Diploma of Higher Education in Tourism and Service Business Management contains 60 ECTS in total (still waiting for results)
XAMK certificate of the introduction of video games creation did not finish it all, probably get 9 ECTS with all the quizzes, still waiting for results
Few free Helsinki University credits, 4-6 ECTS probably
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: none
Budget: Around 5k-7k ish
Timeline: Want a degree ASAP, whatever subject is fine for me
Any certifications or military experience? none
How can I possibly get my degree as fast as possible? Do the ENEB courses get evaluated by ECE as RA bachelors as the website states? ( https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/ENEB) Is it possible to waive the GEC by the ENEB masters?
How many ECTS can be converted into US RA credits? I know that 2 ECTS=1 US credit roughly, but I have no idea how they calculate that stuff as I am a bit confused. Are the ECTS gained by Finnish schools to be counted as electives or RA credits (no idea does RA credits can be treated as electives or not) for the UMPI-BLS program after getting evaluated by ACEI? I know that TESU accepts ACEI evaluation, but how does UMPI evaluate ACEI reports? Do they accept it or they don't accept Finnish ECTS studies like TESU does? Is TESU a better route for me?
Just want a degree as fast as possible, no matter what major, preferably the vague ones like Liberal Studies. As I am aware the program requires 62 electives in total, but I don't know whether the ECTS can be they can be evaluated as electives or not. Should I be doing Sophia instead for a faster route?
I have done a lot of research but couldn't find the answers to all the questions. Sorry for the bad English. but need advice badly! Thanks guys!

Me: 老司机, You: 新手 Let me guess, your last name is Hui, born 1998. My Tai Chi instructor has the same last name! Anyways, review the info below, the BAS is slightly better than the BLS, Pierpont just opened to international students recently!
@huiwh1998, Welcome to the board, you skipped two critical items on the addendum, your commitments and dedicated time to study. Such as you going to school, working, volunteering, what ever else that may take time away from your studies.
I'm an older driver, I have been on interesting educational adventures, I've guided many through their educational journey as well. For a new learner, you want to provide as much details as possible so we get a clear picture of your path.
For this journey, with just a tad more planning, I suggest you do the Pierpont BOG AAS, ladder that to the UMPI BAS instead of having the BLS, it's slightly cheaper, easier, faster due to the flexible requirements compared to the BLS.
Both with allow a max transfer of your credits, 60 will go into the electives alone. Your CertHE should equate to 1 year (first year 30 credits), the other credits from ENEB/XAMK should equate to another year of credits at least. You'll need a language plus science and lab...

Yes, you're correct! My last name is Hui. I can study the whole day without a problem like 8-10 hours ish I guess...NO school NO nothing atm... Can 100% focus on studies. Want to finish my bachelor's asap. By looking at your last name I guess you're from hk also, right?
I forgot to mention, that I am currently studying at the University of Essex Online as well, doesn't seem like a lot of people mentioned probably since it cannot be accelerated.
Credits obtained from University of Essex Online: (TOTAL UK CREDITS 60)
Fundamentals of Effective Learning, Mark:62 Credits 15
Business and Management Skills, Mark 50 Credits 15
Fundamentals of Marketing, Mark 63 Credits 15
Human Resource Management Mark 57 Credits 15
Credits obtained from the University of Liverpool (First year) (CertHE) (TOTAL UK CREDITS 120)
Introduction to Accounting and Finance (Non-specialist) Mark 50 Credits 15
Economic Principles For Business and Markets Mark 51 Credits 15
Business Statistics, Mark 55 Credits 15
Professional and Academic Skills for Marketing and International Business, Mark 53 Credits 15
International Business Environment, Mark 60 Credits 15
Fundamentals of Marketing, Mark 53 Credits 15
Consumer Behaviour, Mark 62 Credits 15
Organizations and Management, Mark 51, Credits 15
Liverpool International College (don't know if that's relevant lol) (UK CREDITS 60? I'm not sure)
Economics in an International Context Mark 67 Outcome Pass Credit 12
Statistics Mark 71 Outcome Pass Credit 12
Business Organizations Mark 61 pass Credit 12
Business Management Mark 69 Pass Credit 12
Language for Study 3 Mark 65 Pass Credit 12
Skills for Study Mark 62 Pass Credit 12
XAMK credits ( No idea if that's relevant too lol but I want to gain as much free ECTS as possible because of the potential of transferring it to US credits (RA credits to be precise?)) (TOTAL ECTS 25 at the moment)
Destination Finland 5 credit, Mark 5
Intercultural competencies 5 credit, Mark 4
Digital skills in hospitality service production 5 credits, Mark 5
Customized services in hospitality business 5 credit, Mark 5
Customer-oriented marketing 5 credit, Pass
Considering my case, what potentially can be waived by your experience? GEC? electives? And around how many can be waived?
What are the differences between Pierpont BOG AAS and Sophia courses? As I have noticed most people are promoting Sophia......
Besides, I have looked at the Requirements of BAS, and I want to avoid Math and Science as much as possible because I am really bad at Math.....and I want most of my work done by essays and writing, word count won't be a problem. Exams are ok ish and I want as less proctored exams as possible (open-book exams will be fine, as long as you can google the answers lol), would BLS be a better option?
From what I saw on the forum and degree plans, is it better to do the language thing in UMPI? How do I do the science and lab...Can it be done online? Or it can be done at Sophia/Pierpont? Sorry for too many questions, as US education is a bit confusing... I get the general ideas but I don't understand the details...
Again, thanks for your help old master, I am really a newbie when it comes to US online study.

Here's a thread post #13, you want to read my answers after post #13, you can skip the previous posts if wanted and a link to another post #17 to see a spreadsheet for UMPI Minor/4 classes for the MAOL, this person is going for the Pierpont BOG AAS, UMPI BAS, UMPI MAOL (UMPI AALS is a freebie that is added as a freebie, no extra work required for the AALS). Sophia.org classes are all that you need to complete the Pierpont BOG AAS, you don't take any courses from them, it's 100% transfer, pay and graduate! Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid411847
For your science and lab, you take them at Sophia.org, actually, all you need is Sophia.org and everything is done online, open book quizzes, milestone exams, you can skip all the ones with touchstone assignments for the Pierpont BOG AAS, but you will need to do these with assignments for the UMPI BAS. The main thing is, it's cheaper, easier, faster, and more flexible than the BLS, 18 Upper Level credits is all that is required, the 4 (12 credits) that transfer into the MAOL and the two (6 UL credits) for the minor of choice. Here are links to a sticky thread, Pierpont BOG and UMPI BAS links are within: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...one-it-yet

This is getting a bit confusing... So basically, from my understanding, for this BOG AAS, I need 60 credits, am I right? So can transfer 45 (or 15?) of my former credits into the school (or vice versa?), does it need to be evaluated by a US evaluator like the NACES? Then, I will have to study another 15 (or 45?) credits from Sophia (GEC?), after that, I can graduate with a Pierpont BOG AAS degree. So basically, does it mean that I can transfer all the credits from other institutions to get a BOG AAS degree? And BOG AAS only charges for the admin fee? Then, I take the BOG AAS degree in exchange for a UMPI AAS degree, then I will have 60 credits remaining. After that, I can study another 30 credits on Sophia because UMPI allows 90 credits for maximum transfer. So that leaves me with 30 credits remaining at UMPI for the UMPI BAS degree. Am I correct? I feel like I am totally confused. Is there by any chance you speak Cantonese or Chinese? Do you mind if I PM you to ask you more questions? Are there any degree plannings for that? Thanks bro.

May I ask why you're specifically interested in a BLS/BAS degree? I would strongly recommend a BABA vs. a BAS/BLS. The BAS/BLS might work for Hong Kong right now but, if you are even partially considering moving to another country, there are countries that don't know how to deal with a BAS/BLS degree. For immigration purposes, you might not even count as having a "full" degree. A BABA degree is much more portable, takes only slightly more effort, and is still very fast and inexpensive to obtain.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Take your time, don't rush things... Pretty much what you just mentioned, you've got this as the following: Pierpont BOG AAS, 15 credits Sophia.org for General Education, 45 previous credits as electives. UMPI BAS, 40 Gen Ed credits, 60-62 previous credits as electives, 18-20 in the minor, all the classes you take from Sophia.org/previous credits go from BOG AAS to the UMPI BAS as transfer credit, you just continue onwards with UMPI requirements.
Yeah, you can PM me to ask questions, I am better with Canto or English, my French & Mandarin is OK. The only reason I suggest the BAS or even BLS, is the max transfer of your current credits as 60 can go into electives. I linked you earlier to the degree plan sticky thread for the UMPI BAS and the person laddered that from the Pierpont BOG AAS. You don't have to overthink every detail, review the Pierpont WIKI and UMPI BAS WIKI linked.

I just want a degree as fast as possible, as long as it is valid and real, it is fine for me. I know a baba is definitely better but I just want it to be as quick as possible so I choose the BAS/BLS route! I am already in another online institution (Uni of Essex Online, which cannot be accelerated) and I am studying business-related subjects, I don't want to repeat all the stuff again. A BAS with a MIS minor might be a good idea because I can get to know more in the IT field, and I might have more job opportunities as well...

I've read through it, you've got a few things going on and that's why it seems complex, it's actually just completing 'blocks' of credits and transfer them in. You can do things differently, apply to both Pierpont and UMPI, send in transcripts towards both institutions, you can send Sophia.org classes for transfer credit once you are done with the 15 gen eds for the Pierpont BOG AAS, you can get the Info System using the 5 Sophia.org IT related classes, in addition to what you are bringing in from transfers.
For UMPI, you want to get more credit, it does require 40 technical credits, 15 are coming from the Sophia.org IT related ones, more can come through with the cheap monthly subscriptions for Coursera/Google Certificates that generate ACE credit. These are recommended for extra IT credits and certs/experience, you should do all the Sophia.org classes that transfer, then a subscription of Coursera to get those ACE options completed. Lastly start your classes at UMPI... I'll get into more detail when I reply to your PM.
