At your age, you don't have much experience in that field, making the energy/time to get the IBM cert in addition to the UMPI course is what I would recommend, the reason is simple, you're going to use that for knowledge and learning gaps that gets filled by doing both. In many of my posts, you will notice I mention to do the certs in addition to the classes even if it duplicates the credits, and that's the reason why... If you were my age or something like double, and you have plenty of knowledge/experience, doing the UMPI course would be recommended as that would go towards the MAOL. Thank you! I would prefer to do the Bachelor in the most efficient and fast way though, how can I adjust for that? Here in Europe it's basically just needed to tick a box to enter junior level positions. I can do certificates after the bachelor too if needed. I don't want to work in Data Analytics anyway, so I would probably prefer doing some other certificate afterwards.
Or could I at least remove the general elective courses that the certs credits cover? I am not sure how that works, if more credits in one class from the certs can replace other classes. I think stuff like Art History II really isn't necessary for future jobs and I'd like to skip that.

Should I just do the BUS 440 at UMPI instead?
It's hard to say how long it would take you.
Google IT support says it will take 240 hours, but I did it in a few days. Do you have prior work experience to help you do it so quickly?
I can do some basic python, but the other things I'd need to learn from scratch.
Yes, I did it after I got my Computer Science degree. I watched the videos in the first section, but after that, I jumped right to the quizzes for the other sections.
I took 2 SDC networking courses, which helped a lot since there is a big section on networking.
Most of the stuff was pretty straightforward.
It's pretty laid-back. You don't get punished if you fail a quiz since you can retake it immediately.

I finalized my degree plan now:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing
Would be thankful if you guys could check for errors.
I removed the longer IBM certificate, as I don't want to work in Data Analytics anyway and UMPIs Bus 440 seems to be massively quicker. I also needed another 3 UMPI credits to hit the 30 requirement.
I also added the Certificates to what they transfer in as GE credit, so I was able to remove some GE classes for maximum efficiency.
Thank you!

Great plan! I am following kind of the same.
Got a question... where did you find that Sophia Calculus I goes for Math for Business? Not implying that you're wrong! Just curious as I thought it's only SDC's math for this course.

Says you can take MAT 131 instead of 140. Calculus I comes in as that. But I strongly advise against that, do MAT 140 at UMPI. Calculus I was super hard, even at Sophia.

It really depends on the student, if you have some wiggle room for residency credits, then do take the MAT 140 at UMPI. Having said that, if you want to transfer in the max classes, you can take the classes at Sophia.org and with the subscription being active, complete the Calculus I class. If you have issues, CLEP/MS is another option, you decide which option would be better for you.

Just noticed. You got 37 credit hours in Gen Eds. I believe there is a mandatory 40 credit hours requirement. This has been discussed on this forum too. Link: http://catalog.umpi.edu/preview_program....3&poid=239
Unless I do not know something, I would suggest you add one unique Gen Ed in your table
Edit: oh, maybe you meant to have 6 credits with Deutsch test? sorry if I missed that.

Are you from Switzerland too?

When (at what stage) should I go sign up at UMPI, so I don't have any delay with the admissions process?
Stages as planned:
Sophia
Study.com
Coursera
UMPI
I have only 7/17 Sophia classes left and I reckon I will be done with Sophia in 2-3 weeks, I will probably need about 1 month each for Study.com and Coursera.
Thanks!

It's too late for Spring 2... You're good to apply after your Sophia.org classes are all complete. I would focus on getting them all done, then apply by the end of March. Application deadline is April 2, 2024 and the document deadline is April 5, 2024. I would apply the last week of March, send all transcripts by the end of March as the confirmation deadline to start is April 12, 2024. You want to confirm that start date no later than April 5, give yourself a week buffer time for all dates... While waiting for start of session which is May 6, you can complete all the Coursera first and then Study.com (if needed).

I am following the same plan. Will Sophia’s conflict resolution transfer to UMPI as BUS 210? On their website, UMPI shows it’ll transfer in as an elective.
