Tough Dual Concentration BS Degree Possible???
#1
I am working my way through all the random classes I have on my plate, and while looking through all my info, I know that getting 2 Bachelors degrees with 2 Concentrations each is possible through TESU. What I am looking at is that the 1st combo I already have added to my advising page as BSBA HR/Organizational Management & Operations Management. I am looking to add BS Military Technology Leadership & Electronic Systems Engineering Technology. I know that I am not allowed to have much overlap in the AOS for the combined degree, but is this one possible?

Military Tech Leadership https://www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/bs/mil...leadership
Pre-Calculus
Chemistry 1 & 2 w/ Labs

Electronic Systems https://www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/bs/ele...technology
Calculus 1 & 2
Physics 1 & 2w/ Labs

This leaves only 3 courses that would overlap other than possibly some electives that I would have to figure out.
Occupational Safety and Health
Applied Quality Management
Project Management

I believe these 4 AOS would elevate my standing considerably with my current company as we do Worldwide Aerospace and Defense Technology, and I work in the Electronics portion of that.

Yes, Take StraighterLine Calculus I and II, then you can take the Study.com Business 311: Project Management as it transfers as MAN-4350 Project Management 3 upper, you can also take Physics because Study.com Physics 111: Physics I transfers as PHY-1110 Physics I 3 lower and Study.com Physics 112: Physics II transfers as PHY-1120 Physics II 3 lower, You just need to take the labs at TESU. Note, the Study.com classes transfer over, but not as the 'correct' Chemistry classes.

He can also take Project Management, PHYS101: Introduction to Mechanics and PHYS102: Introduction to Electromagnetism at Saylor.

If he already knows physics, he can try to take the exams, so he avoids the SDC´s quizzes.

Hmm, I don't recall which number these classes at Saylor.org transfer into TESU, as long as it corresponds to Physics I & II, you're good to go. Project Management is UL, so that's good too. I would create an update post with where you're going to take the remaining classes and then decide if you want to go with those providers or not, such as SL for Calculus I & II instead of taking something else for Calculus I...

Oh, that's the page again for TESU/Saylor.org you linked me previously, it's not up to date but should somewhat stand. Hopefully, that is the case for the two classes. I might actually want to try that instead of doing the Study.com classes, unless of course, you already have a subscription on Study.com and have two extra exams remaining for the month...

As someone who just tackled the TESU BS Physics requirement, I can confirm that the best plan of attack is:
  1. Refresh knowledge using Crash Course, Khan Academy, etc. Can start working through the SDC quizzes on a basic membership.
  2. Try the Saylor Exams. The odds of passing them aren't great, but they're just $5 each and potentially a huge time saver.
  3. Do the courses and exams on SDC if necessary.
  4. Take the labs at TESU. They're no big deal and probably can be completed in a few weekends. Don't be tempted by StraighterLine's Physics - it's not a good option.
SDC is the easiest and cheapest way to knock out the courses and also provides enough knowledge for TESU's labs. There aren't good alt-credit labs available, but TESU's standalone labs are managable.

I finally got an email back and they have loaded the BS - Electronic Systems Engineering Technology degree to my program, but included a warning that I would be short on "technical" credits to do the ESET and the BS - Military Technology Leadership. Considering I would have to come up with a bunch more technical credits, plus complete Calculus 1 & 2, and Chemistry 1 & 2, as well as the APS-4900 Tech Assessment, the I do not think it would be prudent to pursue both at the same time. Considering I am already looking at other graduate level programs, I will be passing on the ESET degree unless anyone has any ideas for quick "tech" credits.
