Assistance with UMPI BABA degree?

If these aren't required and you can take more comp sci courses I would do that instead because UMPI doesn't have comp sci courses at this time.

COM101 Public Speaking
ECO102 Microeconomics
ACC111 Financial Accounting
MGT208 Human Resources Management

You'll also need macro econ in order to transfer micro econ to UMPI.

Understood. They are required to complete my degree at EGCC, so that's why I'll be completing them. I won't have to pay, though, as my free union benefit covers Fall 2023 and I receive the full Pell Grant which should cover Spring 2024.

I'm assuming the Macro Economics course @ Sophia will be acceptable for transfer to UMPI? Quick Google search shows the class should be pretty quick to complete.

Yes you can take it on Sophia and it will transfer to UMPI no problem.

Yes, In addition to the courses you have listed, I think it's best to also complete anything missing with Sophia.org and transfer in the max you can with what shows on the WIKI. Just linking you again to the UMPI degree plans: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:UMPI

I'm a little confused, sorry. How do I go about comparing what I will have completed by next summer to what I can transfer into UMPI? I've gone through the SCM Wiki a few times today and feel like I'm digging deeper with less understanding  Huh

If the name matches what UMPI offers, it will probably come in as that UMPI class. For instance, Intro to Psychology is pretty universally Intro to Psychology.

You can also check the UMPI transfer database to see if anyone has transferred in specific courses that you're unsure about.

You should start by creating a spreadsheet that shows what UMPI requires. Then start matching up what you have completed and what you will have completed with those classes. Anything leftover can be completed at Sophia, Study.com, or UMPI.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Okay, great. Thanks for the info. I created a spreadsheet with all my classes so far that I have taken at my previous college and currently at EGCC. I used UMPI's equivalency tool to see which fulfilled which GLOs. Looks like I have quite a few to fill next summer before Fall 2024 @ UMPI.

Will my classes that I am transferring over that do not fulfill any GLOs or UL classes just transfer in as electives? I've never transferred this many courses before so unsure on how that part works.

Spreadsheet screenshot attached.

Classes that aren't GEC/GLO classes and that aren't used in your major will go to electives, yes. If you "overfill" your electives, the transferred courses will still show up on your final UMPI transcript but won't apply to your degree.

Gotcha. Looks like my next step will be picking which Sophia/SDC courses cover multiple GEC/GLO so I don't have to take so many  Big Grin

Thank you!

I filled in the rest of my GEC that I will be taking at Sophia/SDC. It doesn't look like any other transfer into UMPI from what I saw on the SDC/Sophia equivalency lists? I might have missed some. If you can go over my spreadsheet whenever you have a chance I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi all,

I applied for graduation at my current school as I will be completing my courses at the end of the Spring semester. I would like to immediately enroll in Sophia/SDC during the summer to try and complete the rest of the courses I need to transfer to hit that 90 credit max.

I was wondering when I should apply for UMPI considering I will still need to complete Sophia/SDC courses during the summer, but also with enough buffer time to start classes Fall 2024? I have seen things take some time at UMPI, so I wonder if I should apply after graduation to get my transcripts reviewed, and then things will be completed and ready for me to sign up for courses by Fall 2024.

Thanks in advance!
