One year free access, but doesn't say what the certifications are. Looks like lots of different areas, not sure how useful they will be/if any will have ACE credit.
I will report back once they approve my membership, it said 1-2 days after signing up.

Side note: These are not ACE recommended for credit, I don't think they're credit bearing anywhere else either. Having said that, it'll be good certs or experience that people can get... I guess they're very similar to the Coursera offerings, since they're partnering with other large companies, it'll be somewhat entry-level... And there's an article on their website already for today... Link: https://www.verizon.com/about/news/veriz...ch-careers

Wow, it's really growing in popularity, even Slickdeals has this! They're expanding and laying off staff at the same time with this freebie! Link: https://slickdeals.net/f/16979335-free-1...om-verizon

Those wondering, you'll get an initial email (automatic, when you sign up) and in a couple of days or so, you'll get the official one. I haven't received mine yet, still waiting... this is the first of the two.
Look out for an email from edX with the steps to activate your specially-curated, free Verizon Skill Forward subscription within 1-2 business days. To make sure our email reaches you, add edX Support Team <edx@news.edx.org> to your contacts.
Please keep in mind that you must act quickly to confirm your subscription for the next year - you only have 30 days to secure your journey by activating your subscription, enrolling in a course, and completing at least 30 minutes of learning. Get ready to enhance your skill set and embrace new high-demand abilities!
Sincerely,
Verizon Skill Forward

Wow, there are so many options of courses, professional certs from various institutions including HarvardX. Most of the programs are just two/three courses, you'll come to a few that have about 5-9 courses and they range in months of completion too. I found a program from HarvardX for Data Science, it's 1.5 years long, 9 courses in total! FREE, if you take the courses individually, it's $149 each, so it'll be $1341 USD for this professional cert. Found another cert I kind of want, it's the only advanced cert I am interested in, the rest are all either intro or intermediate level, it's 3 courses, each course is a whopping $450... decisions, decisions, decisions. I think I need to decide on which ones to get and in which order, so I can actually finish within the year if I cram them in the correct order...

Once we finish a professional cert course, do we get the certification for free? I have contacted them but no response from them yet
