edX Verizon Skill Forward - RiverM - 10-10-2023 Saw an ad for this on facebook and signed up https://partnerships.edx.org/verizon One year free access, but doesn't say what the certifications are. Looks like lots of different areas, not sure how useful they will be/if any will have ACE credit. I will report back once they approve my membership, it said 1-2 days after signing up. RE: edX Verizon Skill Forward - billalsobrook - 10-10-2023 I just registered as well. RE: edX Verizon Skill Forward - bjcheung77 - 10-10-2023 Side note: These are not ACE recommended for credit, I don't think they're credit bearing anywhere else either. Having said that, it'll be good certs or experience that people can get... I guess they're very similar to the Coursera offerings, since they're partnering with other large companies, it'll be somewhat entry-level... And there's an article on their website already for today... They're expanding and laying off staff at the same time with this freebie! Sincerely, Verizon Skill Forward Learner Support RE: edX Verizon Skill Forward - billalsobrook - 10-15-2023 I just registered as well. RE: edX Verizon Skill Forward - bjcheung77 - 10-16-2023 Wow, there are so many options of courses, professional certs from various institutions including HarvardX. Most of the programs are just two/three courses, you'll come to a few that have about 5-9 courses and they range in months of completion too. I found a program from HarvardX for Data Science, it's 1.5 years long, 9 courses in total! FREE, if you take the courses individually, it's $149 each, so it'll be $1341 USD for this professional cert. Found another cert I kind of want, it's the only advanced cert I am interested in, the rest are all either intro or intermediate level, it's 3 courses, each course is a whopping $450... decisions, decisions, decisions. I think I need to decide on which ones to get and in which order, so I can actually finish within the year if I cram them in the correct order... RE: edX Verizon Skill Forward - Alex8 - 10-17-2023 Once we finish a professional cert course, do we get the certification for free? I have contacted them but no response from them yet |
