I won't turn 20 until February 2024 but I would like to enroll in the January term. Is there any way to get a waiver or exemption from the age restriction? I have 95 Sophia credits plus the CSM course. Thank you.

No, there is no option for that, as there are no age waivers... For the time being, work on the certs/degree/experience trifecta, since you're looking at completing a Business related degree, you can take the Coursera/ACE freebies that can grant credit for college as I mentioned here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid399973

One session at UMPI is only 2 months to WGU's 6 months. Most people here seem to be able to graduate in two sessions. Some need three. It depends on how fast you can work, what's available during a particular session, what degree you want, and what courses you've transferred in.

Hi,
So from what you are saying,
if a person is working full time,
is it realistic to finish 30 credits in 4 sessions?
THANX!!!

It obviously depends on the person and how much work they're able to put into their classes. But, yes, 4 sessions to finish 10 classes is generally a very realistic goal. Unless you're adding a bunch of minors/concentrations, I can virtually guarantee the ability to finish in 4 sessions or fewer, based on previous student feedback. Even though the switch to Brightspace has made things a bit slower in some classes, 4 sessions is still extremely doable.

@midnite123, it all depends on time management, you're taking 10 classes, you can try to do 4 classes/session and finish in 3 sessions instead of four sessions. We have people who work full time be able to complete all 10 in two sessions by taking 5/session. Don't rush into things, just work at pacing yourself to completing at your own pace (people work differently)...

Thanks for the valuable insights! Your tips on credit transfers, English Composition classes, and science requirements are incredibly helpful. The advice on foreign language credits and caution about degree completion timelines are noted. Smile

Once you apply and are accepted, you are automatically enrolled and you MUST obtain permission from your advisor to transfer in additional classes. This is usually not a problem, but it is still a good idea to wait to apply until you have completed all of the courses that you plan to transfer to UMPI.
  1. UMPI's Enrollment Counselors are PAID TO GET PEOPLE TO APPLY! They don't work for UMPI. They are contractors. Do NOT apply until you are ready.

I've been searching the forum and haven't found an answer to this question, but I apologize if I overlooked and this question is redudant.
Does this advice still apply as of November 2023?  I know that UMPI is very backed up and I'd like to get applied for the January term if possible. Should I go ahead and apply and send in my transcripts to see where I am credits-wise? Considering the BABA Management / Leadership - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan
Background:
I was originally planning on going to WGU - in fact I'm applied and already sent in my transcripts and all that. But the more I read about the proctor issues the less I'm liking it.  I came across UMPI on youtube and eventually found this forum. I'm not sure exactly how many credits I can transfer in from my college days, but WGU only gave me 23 towards their program.  I've also been racking up Sophia credits, but so far only those specifically related to my program at WGU.  Got another 24 from Sophia I can transfer.
Thanks for any advice!
