Another recent example isWorld Quant University for their MS Financial Engineering. They got started without any accreditation and now have DEAC(NA). Both were licensed by their state to offer degrees before they became accredited.
So is that why only FL peeps can sign up? Would they need DEAC or something to open it up to others?

State licensing wouldn't limit who can attend. I'm guessing that they're limiting it to FL residents just during the early pilot to test it out before a full release and/or due to donation/grant stipulations they have to focus on FL residents.

I decided to look at the catalog for the course descriptions. And I also looked at the courses available. If anyone is interested in this, it looks like the courses are all available to all. Any of the business classes that are 500 level. You can only eat the free non-credit certificates, but you can sample the actual material

Hopefully they are able to open the program up to everyone and seek accreditation(even though it'll probably only be NA initially). I'll definitely try to check out the material since I plan to pursue an MBA down the road regardless.

Step 1: Pre-Entry Course Requirements
In order to gain admission to the Saylor MBA program, all students must complete:
BUS501: Strategic Management
There are no waivers available for this requirement.
Step 2: Complete All Eight Core Course Requirements
MBA601: Financial Management
MBA602: Marketing Management
MBA603: Managing People
MBA604: Innovation & Sustainability
MBA605: Strategic Project Management
MBA606: Operations & Supply Chain Management
MBA607: Data-Driven Decision-Making
MBA608: Ethical & Strategic Management
Step 3: Leadership Capstone Requirement
Once the core courses above are successfully completed, MBA candidates must then enter and complete the Leadership Capstone course:
MBA609: Leadership Capstone
Step 4: Complete One Specialization Track
Once the Leadership Capstone is completed, MBA candidates enter the final phase of the program to complete a specialization track. Candidates must complete all three courses in one of the specializations to complete the program. There are two specialization tracks available at this time:
- Data Management & Analytics MBA610: Business Intelligence & Analytics
MBA611: Data Management
MBA612: Data-Driven Communications
or
- International Business MBA613: International Business
MBA614: International Finance
MBA615: International Marketing
My Questions
1. Where does it say this is only for Florida residents?
2. Can these courses transfer into other MBA programs? Or undergrad?
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

There is a form that was shared earlier in the thread. The form states that it is only for Florida residents. Also, while I can see most of the courses listed and you can go through the content and get the free certificate, you can not self-enroll for the program nor the proctored exam. It is “hidden” behind an invite-only.
Whether the courses are transferable would be completely up to the school that would be taking them in. Since there is no accreditation, I would guess that it is unlikely at this time. Also, as I was reading through the handbook, I noticed that is said that they do not accept outside credits. The program has to be totally completed through them.

That data analytics track just sweetened the pot for me. Will definitely keep an eye on this program.
I'm guessing the courses would all be self paced like the rest of Saylor? In that case one could slowly finish a class here or there and wait for accreditation (assuming they're pursuing it) before finishing the last few classes. Keep in mind that accreditation is generally a multi-year process so don't hold your breath on that one.

Accreditation is a multi year process and you only have 5 years to complete the degree. I definitely wouldn't hold my breath waiting for accreditation if you get started early.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Curious as to why you would wait as it doesn't matter if they never get accredited, and if they do and you complete it before, upon a search, it is an accredited degree. HR is not doing a back check on the date in most cases. By the numbers, HR is doing an average review at best, and we continue to see issues when shady degrees get exposed long after the individual was hired.

My current employer thoroughly vetted my prior work and education and I wouldn't stake my future career prospects on hoping someone gets lazy. Also, since I intend to teach in the future, accreditation matters a LOT and they DO check. Also, I'm in no rush to complete an MBA right now anyway, I have a few other education/certification/career goals to do over the next few years before I intend to focus on pursuing an MBA(or similar).
