A B is an 80 not a 90. Yes, all of your grades are included when schools calculate your GPA for grad school.

So with attending UMPI (my preferred choice) this will leave me little room to earn anything less than A(s) in order to get into the WGU MBA program; however if I complete the BS Degree at WGU, it guarantees the MBA acceptance.

WGU does not require a 3.0 for their MBA program. I just looked on the website again and I do not see anywhere on Admissions where it states that a 3.0 is required for entrance. No GPA is mentioned.

What I was referring to in mentioning a B, was that in order for me to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B), I would need to have nearly straight A(s) or 90+ per course to counterbalance my prior low GPA.  It can be done, will just need to be very diligent!

I think you'll find at UMPI, in many classes it's really not that difficult to get a B+ or higher. As long as you follow the instructions and rubric, submit your Rough Drafts, and make the changes the professors want, A's are not super difficult. If you put the time into the assignments, they're 100% doable. I earned a 4.0 for my first degree and a 3.949 for my second. Both at UMPI.

I love hearing this!  I will put the time in!  Congrats to you on the 4.0 and the 3.949, that is a big accomplishment!  I wish there was extra credit or something to allow those so close to a 4.0 to get that!

Now that's interesting!  That would relieve a little pressure, although I still want to graduate UMPI with honors.    Wink

You can totally graduate from UMPI with Latin Honors. The only courses included in your UMPI GPA are the courses you complete at UMPI.

One technical question @ss20ts:

You mentioned that UMPI only takes grades of C- or higher.  Somewhere I read that if you transfer into UMPI or WGU with an AS Degree, that you effectively receive credit for all general education requirements, leaving no risk of not having any classes left in the lower level.

So am I looking at this wrong?  You are saying that even if I did transfer with the AS Degree (BOG Degree Pierpoint) that I would still be subject to retaking any prior class from the first community collge that had a D in it?  Example:  Econ 101 - D at community college.  Pierpoint grants credit for all my prior CC courses, and I complete the BOG Degree by finishing up the remaining 4 courses at Pierpoint, fulling all BOG AS requirements.  Then I transfer to UMPI, I will still be told that I still have to take the Econ 101 to fulfill a GenEd requirement?  I have been under the impression all this time, that transferrig with the AS Degree remedies that.

Follow-up:  How do you suggest I start with the Excel sheet?  Is there a template I can just type over to my exact situation?  Do I get this template from Wiki link?

UMPI does not take block transfers to waive any requirements (Gen Eds or otherwise); which is why I suggested to skip the Pierpont BOG AAS (it will just slow you down for UMPI - and likely WGU. Don't forget it is not just about getting credits that meet the Pierpont BOG AAS, but you have to then wait for thier conferral schedule before your degree is awarded. It is not immediate).  Trying to save those few 'required course' Ds you have is not feasible; you can easily (cheap and quickly) replace them with Sophia courses.

WGU does offer degree programs that will waive Ged Eds if you already have an associate degree (their degree programs require very few Gen Eds to start with), there has been debate however if an AAS meets the requirement (vs a traditional associate degree program AA/AS - seems to depend on the bachelor degree)

An associate degree does not waive gen ed requirements at either school. At UMPI, it will waive the high school transcript requirement. That's it. You still have to complete the GEC. At WGU, they have few gen eds. You still have to complete all of them.

A D will not transfer to UMPI so yes you will need to retake that course if it is a required course at UMPI. You can complete the course on Sophia and transfer it to UMPI no problem. What happens at Pierpont doesn't impact degrees anywhere else. Every school has their own policies. Why would you pay to take 4 classes at Pierpont? Forget the associate degree. Focus on the bachelor's degree. Technically you need macro and micro econ to meet ECO101 at UMPI. You get 3 credits for ECO101 and 3 credits for a general elective.

I'm reaching out today to UMPI to check status of enrollment application.  I need to start my Sophia classes Wednesday, and don't know what to start with!  I've been in this holding pattern for 3 weeks, but am concerned of duplicating efforts. Is there a sure way of knowing what 5 classes I can go ahead and get done at Sophia over the next 2 weeks? Actually, reaching out to UMPI won't help, as they are waiting on HS transcripts, who were not online with Parchment. I have left a message at former HS to confirm my request was received, and that thngs are in progress.

@DolceDolce - You're overthinking this. You could have had many courses on Sophia completed already in the pass 3 weeks. Take a deep breath and pause for a moment, you've got this. Forget the courses you have Ds in, you need to take them again (through Sophia) - at Sophia they are Statistics, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics (you need both), and then Ancient Greek Philosophers (which will replace your philosophy, and prepare you for 'Introduction to Ethics' - again needed and available through Sophia).  You have 'Intro to Physics (4)  w/Lab' so we know you will need (Sophia) Biology without Lab. You already have French so you do not need (Sophia) Spanish. Keep going with the what you have and compare it to what falls where using the Wiki - https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...quivalents. I hope this helps you start your planning
