He says that you can transfer in up to 96 credits for some degrees, but I just don't think this is true? I'm pretty sure it's 90.
He says all you need is a laptop which isn't 100% true. You need an external webcam.
I thought you had to complete at least 25% of the degree at WGU. There are some programs that you can't transfer in the full 90 credits because there isn't an equivalent outside of WGU.
He says their programs are 40 classes and the Cybersecurity degree has 34 classes.
I was thinking this was an old video, but the comments are from less than 24 hours ago.
It's funny how he goes on about the WGU stats about employer satisfaction. He left out the part where most WGU students aren't 18-22 years old, but instead working adults.
He said Stanford is an Ivy. While it is competitive to the Ivies, it's not one of the 8 Ivies. The Ivies actually refers to a specific athletic program.
WGU is new and part of the new alternative education? WGU has been around since 1996. I wouldn't exactly say it's new. Alternative education is things like apprenticeships - NOT new at all, boot camps - not really new, internships - NOT new and have existed for many decades, online programs and training - definitely not new.Alternative education is something to keep colleges honest? What?
He leaves me with even more questions!

I think I may have replied to comments on a couple of his videos in the past, mentioning UMPI and/or CBE as an option for people who wanted a cheap degree. ![Big Grin Big Grin](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/biggrin.png) I don't remember him mentioning actually cheap degrees before now. I haven't watched all of his videos, but in the past he's mentioned "cheap" degrees costing a few tens of thousands at minimum.

Technically, it's 75% of the degree, so that it would be 91.5 credits for computer science. For 96 transfer credits, you need a degree with 128 total credits.
For the computer science degree, transferring in max credits would leave you with only seven classes to do in 6 months + the capstone. You can get a 1-month extension as long as you start the capstone before your term ends.
He said he wrote a degree plan spreadsheet with Josh Madakor. That's either a lie or extremely misleading. Josh Makakor came up with those spreadsheets, and maybe he copied/pasted the info into a new spreadsheet.
Shane Hummus wasn't talking about alternative college options until he met Josh Madakor around three months ago. So now he parrots what Josh Madakor already said + adds in other relevant things.
That being said, Shane Hummus has excellent video production quality, and I like his YouTube videos.

YouTube keeps recommending this guy's videos to me, and of course I keep clicking like a fool. In a video released in JULY of THIS YEAR, he recommends "Excelsior College Examinations". I'd be willing to accept that he missed that these exams are no longer being offered, because that was a sudden change that was barely telegraphed to anyone. I'm less willing to overlook the wrong name. They haven't been ECEs in years and years.

Yup, Quora, Reddit, YouTube, even this and the sister board sometimes have outdated and conflicting details, we usually have to verify the updated info. It all depends on who is updating those, if they're reviewing their submissions for possible errors or not. Many of them are counting on what they currently know and entering them into their posts or video logs. With every piece of advice out there, review the details and research it to verify currency, things change... Even though this board is mostly up to date, people still read "older" posts and think that's the way things are still done.

The really sad thing is that people are paying him hundreds of bucks for this info. His info is not accurate in any video I have watched and they're recent videos. I watched one the day he released it and it had so many inaccuracies.
Gosh they've been called UExcel exams many years. Not only did the name change years ago, the exams are retired! Why make a video about them in July? You couldn't even register for them after June 30th. This shows me that he doesn't research anything.
