Honestly, this needed to happen YEARS ago. I'm still shocked at how little is taught in schools about computers in general. We all live on one! We all have a phone, tablet, laptop, whatever. How do people think they get their Candy Crush addiction filled? Someone has to design, develop, program, maintain it.

I wish I'd have been offered any kind of computer classes and I didn't graduate HS too long ago... Heck, I wish I had a typing class at some point instead of just being sat in front of a computer to play "educational" games(glorified flash cards) for 2 hours a week. It took me over 10 years removed from K-12 to realize something was wrong when it was taking me way longer to type up papers and do coding assignments than my peers. Realized I never learned touch typing and had to spend time every day practicing before I even got close to an average typing speed. And it took only the last few years before realizing tech was not just a good career path, but actually my passion!

I took touch typing in high school on an IBM Selectric with blacked out keys (so don't bother looking down).  I have to say, it's probably one of the most useful classes I've ever taken in my life.

Both of my kids do touch-typing as well, although they learned from games (but actual typing games).
