UL course suggestions
#1
Hello-
I need to choose 4-5 UL courses to complete my BLS minor Management. Im looking for suggestions on any UL courses in particular that you really enjoyed and of course ease & speed are very much appreciated  Wink

I am considering:

BUS 325 Fundamentals of Finance
POS332 Con Law
HTY454 Slavery in the US
HTY456 Films of the Cold War
HTY439 Vietnam War
HTY350 US Enviro Law
HTY/POS 370 Arab Israeli Conflict
POS 335 Modern Political Thought

Which courses are exams vs papers, etc.

Any and all suggestions on classes and instructors are appreciated.

Thank you!

With a Management Minor I'd stick with the UL business courses. BUS325 is LOOOOONG. It has quite a bit of math. There's an exam as the Final Assessment. Definitely not one of the easier courses.

@Jennr2z, you can add yourself another minor - History! With 4 UL history courses, that'll equate to 12 UL credits, if you have taken two Sophia.org History courses already, that's the entire minor! They just require 18 credits and 12 must be UL to complete the History minor. Tada, you've decided already, Voila!

This is awesome info!! Thank you Smile
I have History 1 & 2 done already, so it sounds like Ill definitely choose 4 UL History and add another minor! I will email Jessica about it. Would the same be possible for a Political Science minor? Add 4 UL POS classes?

I will mark BUS325 off my list! Math isnt my strongest suit anyways. What other UL BUS classes would you recommend?

For a few of the minors, it's all lower level courses but there are "specific" courses you need. For History, Political Science, they both just need 18 credits, 6 LL and 12 UL. So, if you want to add Political Science, you can, just make sure to hit these simple requirements.

This is a little off subject, but are you able to email Jessica because you've already applied?

Are you newly applying?

I emailed with Jessica and I decided to go Poli Sci minor. It will only be one extra course!  Wink

I'm planning to apply for the 8/29 session, too. But I read in other posts where it's best to finish all the courses from Sophia, InstantCert, etc you want to transfer. Have you finished these other courses already? Even though everyone on here has been helpful, it still feels like I'm flying in the dark, since it's not certain which of my classes from my previous school will transfer.

I applied in the first part of May, with the intent of not starting until Aug 29th, but I wanted a solid plan of what I needed to complete over the Summer so that I would be at only needing to take 10-11 courses at UMPI. 10, 30 credits at UMPI are required. I would say go ahead and apply, get started with a solid plan with Jessica. It made me feel much better to see it on paper from UMPI and know exactly what I needed to complete. The GE requirements can be a bit confusing so the plan from Jessica breaks it down nicely also. This forum is awesome and I have compiled so much info from here!
