Does Sophia Spanish I transfer to UMPI 5C requirement? InstantCert is killing me as the spanish I've  learned for years doesn't seem to match the fill in the answer spanish they want...

Yes it does. I talked to Jessica Monday during my first advising meeting and told her I was taking Spanish through Sophia and asked if that was okay and she said yes.

I would not recommend taking Spanish through Sophia because it has 5 assignments
Sophia is known for taking a long time to grade assignments, so I would think that this course would take forever.

Instantcert may be a pain but it still looks like the easiest option out there

Español Ibérico is the grouping and Castellian is part of the group, the dialect is slightly different and the word patterns get swapped sometimes.

Yeah, I've only ever heard it called Castellian in language learning programs. I know the different Spanish versions can be quite different from one another, too. So, I'm not surprised if you're having issues if you didn't learn Mexican Spanish.

It's not unlike learning British English, then taking a test on American English. A native speaker may not have issues, but the two languages can actually be quite different in vocabulary.

Someone who took the course said you could turn in 3 assignments simultaneously. Then, once those are graded in 3-7 days, you can turn the rest in.

2 of the oral assignment have the same directions as the written assignment. You have to turn in an oral video. You should be able to copy most of the stuff from the written assignment.

Using Google translate to help with the pronunciation is a good idea.

I just finished Sophia Spanish I and it is way easier than it looks. The five assignments combined will take you about an hour to finish. If you are already familiar with Spanish than it will be quicker to do IC. If not, I recommend Sophia. The course you can finish in a couple of hours but because of how long it takes to grade the touchstones it will take about a week or so.
