SDC Computer Science 302: Systems Analysis & Design
#1
I've been putting off the assignment for this one because it doesn't feel like I got enough information to actually get started on the report. It doesn't appear to be overly difficult, though.

Did anyone use any exterior sample reports to build off of for their assignment? If so, what were they? I'm at a loss for how to format the report. Did you just write a long essay or what?

I don't even need 50 points to pass, so I really should just get this over with.

I structured my paper off of a prior employer's document (which they called out that it didn't follow the "traditional" research-style paper, however they didn't dock any points from it), so I think you would be okay with formatting the report similar to sample reports as long as it has enough details for the project plan.

Sounds like "any" format is fine, then. Nice. Still a bit confused about what they're actually looking for but I'll see if I can find some example sys analysis reports to mimic.

I did a research paper that separated each section based on the 7 stages of software development cycle which are Planning, Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, Maintenance.

You don't have to get super specific, general terms are ok.  Just talk about how the system works on the server/cloud, etc, and talk about the database some.

I had the same issue and after searching threads on here, the most effective information I read was to create content that they're missing to complete the project. My approach was a bit different and I was nervous after submitting, but I ended up scoring 100 so I guess they're flexible in the format.

To address the missing information or details, I ended up approaching the project like an RFI response . I wrote it as if I was a consulting company bidding on work for Backyard Adventures. This let me create a section to address the issues that are included in their RFI (the project outline) and then bring up issues they may not be aware of. For things that were missing, I added things like 'Data Integrity' or 'Separation of Powers' for their existing system that we learned in the course content and would have to be addressed but weren't specifically called out in the outline.

For the main content of my project I put all the main headers under my proposed project solution. The headers I used were similar to LevelUP's sections, but a bit different wording due to the nature of how I was presenting my project.

Hope this helps.
