Unaccredited or Life Experience Degrees that are legal?

WGU is a good option if you have enough certifications that you can transfer in the maximum credits. However, they don't have many general education requirements and, thus, it's harder to complete their degrees quickly.

But, if literally ANY degree will work for your needs, a UMPI Liberal Studies degree would be the absolute fastest and easiest. https://umpi.edu/yourpace I would possibly suggest a Management Information Systems minor for you. That would get you a degree super fast with a minor that could help you with future promotions.

I'm an alumni of UMPI's YourPace program. I completed my BLS in 3 terms. I would have been done in 2 terms, but I completed 3 minors instead of 1. I finished the MIS minor in 2 terms along with the remaining degree requirements. If you transfer in 90 credits which is the max you can transfer into a degree plan at UMPI, then you have 30 credits left which is 10 courses. Completing those 10 courses in 2 terms isn't bad at all especially since you already have IT experience. You will fly through the MIS courses.

Two terms is $2800 plus the cost of Sophia and InstantCert. And if you want to add in any classes from Study.com but you don't have to. My advice is to complete every course on Sophia.org except for English Composition 1 & 2 and the foundations courses. You'll take those 2 English courses at UMPI where they're much easier and faster. It's only 1 paper in each class versus 5 and 7. On InstantCert I recommend taking American Government and Spanish 1. You'll also need a lab science. UMPI does offer one but it's quite a bit of work. The recommendation is to take Biology101L Intro to Biology with Lab because it's easier and faster. Feel free to pm me with any questions you have about UMPI. Awesome! Do you mind sharing any tips or colleges that I can start looking into?

I'm an Excelsior guy, but the program I took (BSLA) has changed to the point where it might not be the best deal right now.  The one thing that stayed the same...improved, actually...is Sophia.  You dive in and tackle all the courses you can with them, and before you know it, you'll have 70-80 credits and be thinking, "I can see the finish line!"

These days, if you're a motivated student, I think the hot tip is UMPI Your Pace.  There's nothing like an RA degree, and if you follow the tips on this board, you can have one by Christmas.

If for some reason life intervenes and temporarily derails your plans, we can steer you to a fully-accredited Associates program that will take your first 60 credits (including your gen ed courses) and award you a degree for free.  It can be a great motivator to have something to show for your effort and it might help push you to finish your Bachelors.

If u r in IT u could check Purdue Exceltrack, they take certifications as credits. Also there are options for IT degree. So it could be IT degree which will benefit u in career. Also maybe u will decide to go for Masters in the future. ( in this case u r better have IT degree to be able to enroll in good University)

I wouldn’t be able to finish quickly. I looked at the curriculum and It would probably take me 1.5 yrs to finish. Not bad but I’m looking for something faster. Thank you though!

I was just curious - Have you compared the UMPI BLS MIS concentration? How did you come to 1.5 years for the WGU option? Are you just using the WGU website example of an average student taking 1.5 years for the degree for some programs? Both institutions provide competency based degree options, it may not be exactly the same but the way students complete assessments/projects, etc, is similar.

WGU has more exams. UMPI has more papers. WGU accepts fewer gen eds and has no electives (which can hinder speedy progress). UMPI has an average number of gen eds and electives.

No I looked at their curriculum. I don’t have much experience in networking, Linux, web dev...things like that and I do not have competency in a lot of those classes. I’m still open some life experience degrees

To complete the BLS with the MIS minor at UMPI you need ZERO experience in networking, Linux, web dev, or anything even remotely related. I completed the minor and have ZERO IT experience.

I guess person is looking for smth fast without putting any effort into it. But unfortunately such thing doesnt exist.
Ur only option is to put work into it to be able to get any legal degree. How fast it can be done depends on u. But there is no way u can just get legal degree without doing actual work

Your first post in this thread was on June 9th. If you'd signed up for Sophia at that time, you could potentially have 30+ credits by now.
