TESU Academic Eval (Random)
#1
Hello Everyone,

I am currently working on completing BA Technical Studies at TESU, I chose this because it the academic eval mapped the most credits from my previous RA credits.

I re submitted the academic eval on the TESU website for  BA Computer science. The results were credits for my existing RA credits were accepted for Physical and Natural world (THE TS Degree shows I need to complete Chem 1, 2) and MAT 102.

Which means I would not have to take Chem1,2 and College Algebra (It took my tech math 2).

Does the website just randomly assigned courses to fill slots ?

Is there any way to have TESU accept my Tech MAth 2 course once the academic eval is completed for BS TS?

This forum and the community here are a gift !!! So thankful I found it !

The BS Technical Studies is a Science degree, and has additional requirements for those slots: https://www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/bs/technical-studies. You need lab sciences, and the math needs to be College Algebra or above. The BA CompSci is technically an arts degree and doesn't have those additional requirements: https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/computer-science.

You won't be able to get TESU to move those classes.

And to note, the BS Technical Studies requires both College Algebra, Statistics, and a math higher than that (Pre-Calc or Calc I at a minimum). So make sure all of those are in your plan if you want to continue with the BS Technical Studies.

The BS degrees at TESU require Chem 1 & 2 or Physics 1 & 2. The BA degrees (of which Computer Science is one) do not require any specific science; the BSBA degrees also do not require any specific science.

The BA CS degree DOES require Calculus, though.

The BSTS (and BSIT) degrees are too hard/expensive to get IMHO, if you don't already have those science courses completed. If you can do the math for CompSci, I'd do it.
