Comp Sci Electives
#1
Hey! I'm working on some computer science courses for an ASNSM from TESU (in addition to some other Bachelor's, not in isolation), and I was wondering if either of these courses from Onlinedegree.com would count: Cybersecurity & Cybercrime or Introduction to Robotics. Does anyone know if they'd count as CS electives or not? Thanks in advance!

Just to help, this is the email I received lately regarding credits for CS electives.

"I hope you're doing well. The following Study.com courses are approved and have been added to your evaluations as planned credits:

CIS 303 Database Management

CIS 302 System Analysis and Design

BUS 308 Globalization and International Management

Computer Architecture cannot be used as a CIS elective.

Business 303: Management Information Systems"

Cybersecurity & Cybercrime come in as AOJ-228. I don't think this is a CS elective but I could be wrong. Robotics comes in as CTR-221. This MIGHT work as a CS elective but prefix indicates that it's geared towards electronics/electrical technology degrees. Personally, I would risk taking them - especially if you think you'd enjoy the material - because they're only $9 apiece.

Dorothy44, CIS is not the same thing as CS. Some things will work for one but not for the other. Computer Architecture is a CS elective but it is not a CIS elective, for instance. Some business courses are appropriate for CIS but will not apply to a CS degree. Management Information Systems is one that happens to be for both
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210
