I do not believe COSC does (EDIT: looks like I’m wrong. They may accept such credit via portfolio process), however, EC will evaluate/consider them if the school’s accrediting commission is recognized by the US Dept of Education with no apparent limit. While schools with accrediting commissions only recognized by CHEA will have a limit of 25% of the credits required. NA credits are not allowed in their nursing programs.

When EC still offered a hospitality bachelor's degree, my husband applied and his NA AAS degree was denied fully.

yeah EC will in theory evaluate and possibly accept them, but in practice i doubt they do it all that often unless there are some extenuating circumstances (didn't they take on some ITT Tech folks?)
COSC evaluating them through PLA doesn't seem any different than TESU or EC's PLA policy though.

Good to know that they take it in theory, but not usually in practice.
Not sure why anyone would PLA when they could just test out of most stuff, seems like way more hassle than it's worth to me (esp for LL courses). PLA is a no-go for most.

Agreed. I can see the value of PLA if they're UL and there isn't any other alt-credit alternative, but I'm not sure how often that'd be the case. At least for the types of degrees we're usually looking at around here.

It was COSC that made an exception to accept ITT Tech transfers when the school shut down.
I think someone once reported EC accepting some Penn Foster credits that weren't ACE-approved.

That's my recollection too. I *think* that EC used to openly and happily accept both if memory serves, but I think their policy of RA (mainly) went into place right as I joined this community, and I seem to remember some Penn Foster credits being accepted. I'll see if I can find anything - but that sounds right to me too.

I know you're only asking about EC & COSC, but it looks like WGU will award transfer credit from any institutions that are recognized as nationally or regionally accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
