If Nodaclu can comment, I would like to know how he met his social psychology as well as upper credit requirements.

     It appears that TESU is giving you some conflicting information. With my BA in Psychology, I contacted TESU, and they allowed me to take SDC SOC PSY 104 as LL, and to take Uexcel SOC PSY as UL, which transfered as PSY-370 into my degree. What you need to do is to get in contact with a MRS. Beckett on TESU academic advising team. She is of supreme help and guidance. Explain to her your situation, and say that you want to meet the 6 credit requirement for SOC PSY in the Psychology degree through taking 1 SDC SOC class, and ! UEXCEL SOC PSY course. If my memory serves me right, she should be able to get it approved by the dean. PM me if you have any more Q's.

dfrecore, if you haven’t already read my post on another thread- ‘how to ask for a waiver of 3 credits’- I am now seriously thinking of pursuing a BALS degree with an 18-credit concentration in psychology. I am seeing on TESU website that both I/O Psychology & Org. Theory are mentioned. I have already completed History & Systems, and Psych of Personality. I feel I might be able to cost effectively fulfill the BALS requirements than BA-Psychology, which seems to have relatively fewer inexpensive options on study.com or Saylor.  As for BALS- I can easily find any one UL course on SDC to meet the 5th UL requirement. And the degree also meets my personal requirements of knowledge in the field of psychology. What are your thoughts?

You need to look at your own situation as to what you want to do with your degree.  If the jobs you're going to look at require a BA in Psych, then a BALS w/Psych concentration probably won't work.  BUT, I don't think most jobs want a BA in Psych, so you are probably fine.  If you're going to get a MA in Psych later, then having the knowledge from the Psych courses you take is fine, whether the course is LL or UL.  And most MA in Psych degrees don't require a BA in Psych anyway.

The jobs I am looking at require me to have an understanding of subjects like I/O Psychology and Organizational Behaviour. Also, I am considering a Masters in Psych later, so a BALS might also work.

I am presuming changing my degree after being enrolled at TESU is not an issue? Hope they don’t subject me to some difficult processes.

If I may give my opinion:

It seems like an overreaction to me to switch to a BALS simply because it would require you to find one fewer UL class. You still have plenty of affordable options to finish the BA in Psych UL requirement, and you're so close that if it were me I would finish it off. It's not as if you're switching from a degree that requires an additional TESU course (e.g. History or Sociology) to one that doesn't - you're just swapping out one type of cheap credit for another that's only slightly cheaper. If it were me I'd take Coopersmith's Physiological Psych (which I actually happen to be taking right now) and UExcel's Social Psychology, but you could also replace one of those with an UL option for Abnormal Psychology (there are several) or the UExcel for Research in Experimental Psychology.

The reason I went ahead with I/O Psychology on study.com is that I would need to take only one Uexcel or TECEP for the last upper level credit.

Let's say you did two Coopersmith for the last two UL credits. That would, as you said, cost $300.

Doing a Study.com class and a TECEP, as it sounds like you initially planned, would've costed $295 ($70 for the Study.com class, $75 per credit x 3 credits for the TECEP), assuming the Study.com class was "extra" - if it was part of your two included classes for the month, then it would be $325 ($100 for a Study.com class, $225 for the TECEP).

The price difference is minimal, unless there's another factor influencing the pricing that I'm missing here.

Good news everyone!! TESU has offered to create additional AOS electives in my case. The I/O Psychology course is now part of my AOS!!!
I just need to complete one more UL course. I am considering either Uexcel or Coopersmith. The rest of the AOS courses can be taken through study.com.

For those considering similar options like me, here is the latest info from TESU:
Uexcel social psychology is Upper level. It transfers in as PSY-370.
Coopersmith physiological psychology is UL. It transfers as PSY-374.
Study.com’s Adv. Social Psychology is acceptable too. But it comes as LL. PSY-245.
Research Methods in Psychology (Uexcel or TECEP) is Upper level.
