Has anyone actually ever.....

Shoto, I just talked to one of the research directors and one the psychomatricians here at my work (we don't develop or score the CLEP) but I tried to nail them both down to a minimum number one would have to get correct given the variables we do know. I had no luck.

When you think about it, it kinda makes sense too. All the basic advice is correct, focus on answering what you definintely know, don't spend valuable time on something you know you can't figure out... This is because there's no penalty for guessing and you've got a 20% chance of getting it right so not answering an item can be more detrimental than guessing.

As for the field test items (CLEP calls them pretest), there is ABSOLUTELY no way of knowing which is which. If you gamble and assume, you may be wrong. This I can say for sure - treat each item as if it were live and counts toward your score. Don't fall into the trap of allowing "throw away" questions. CLEP doesn't even tell you how many field test items there are so you would be totally shooting in the dark to guess.

Good luck!

I failed today and I do not believe that I have ever experienced a greater heartache in my entire adult life. I thought I was prepared, all the signals looked green yet off the cliff I went into the valley of failure. I feel dreadful and am filled with such utter shame and bitter disappointment in myself that it is terribly painful to just write these words. I said that I would take one for the team and I did. I’m sorry.

I know this may sound trite, but Iam proud of you for trying. It's one battle that was waged , but not lost in that you will comeback. So everyone will kick in ..do our research on how to get this requirement fulfilled and get that degree. Iam asking for everyone to put our heads together for our buddy and pick him up and give up some grat ideas on taking the next step to keeping Brian on track to graduation. Can we do it...we sure the "heck" can and will !!
The idea and suggestion page is now open...let's go!!

Aaaaaw ShotoJuku,

Please don't be too disheartened. It's NOT the end of the world.

The whole reason we are all so interested in how you did on this exam, is because many of us are terrified of it. We KNOW it is not an easy exam. You are not on your own in your disappointment.

Disappointment? Yes. Frustration? Yes. Grief? Perhaps! But shame? No way. You have NOTHING to be ashamed of, and certainly nothing to apologize for.

We know you studied. We know you studied with all your heart. We know you did the absolute best you could.

I think somebody whose username is ShotoJuku is no stranger to getting his nose bloodied. You shake it off, you clean yourself up (here's a napkin), and you move on. That's all this is...you took a punch! You took it for all of us. You can be proud of that. You are knocked down, but not knocked out!

When you feel a little better and have had time to recover, we will help you regroup and refocus. Life goes on Brian! Okay?

It's alright,
Snazzlefrag
